This video is fantastic! I loved all the info about Erle Stanley Gardner. I'm a Perry Mason fan and am collecting the books. I love the pulpy paperbacks from the 40's, 50's, and 60's. I especially like the Pocket Books with the silver spine. Thanks for putting this together. It was a treat!

So glad you enjoyed it! Sometimes I worry that I should cut back on too much background info, but I never want to leave the great stories behind the books short. Always great to hear that folks like it! Thank you!

i barely ever comment on videos (and i genuinely mean that-i think i’ve only posted two other comments in the past two months), but please continue posting videos!! even if they don’t receive many thousands of views, please know that to certain group of people, these little info dumps are very enjoyable.

Thank you, Oswald! It's so satisfying to get feedback like this. I'm not too worried about the number of views when I get comments like yours. These videos often take me a while to put together, especially when things get busy at work. But they are a lot of fun to do, so don't worry, more to come! Very happy that you enjoy them.

Hey, I actually recently got 19 perry mason paperbacks from my library store & I started reading the very 1st one you just discussed. I'm hoping to set up my own booktube/film channel soon. I would like to reference/recommend your channel on occasion if that's 👌 with you. Would like to reach out to you via email soon.

The first book I read in the 70s was The Case of the Grinning Gorilla. Never looked back since then. An amusing embarassment to me was when I didnt understand why a street (Della) was moving !

Ha! Well, in Los Angeles, even back in Mason's day, there were plenty of earthquakes to make streets and everything else move! Thanks for watching!

There were a number of Perry Mason movies made during the 1930s as well

Yes, indeed! I considered discussing film and TV versions of "Velvet Claws" but the video was long enough already! Thanks for watching.
