I just bought my RZR 900 s. Only had 100 miles on it. Pretty much brand new. Still had the little tabs on the tires. Took it to Hatfield and McCoy’s for my first ride and I was more than impressed. Great machine. Handled everything the trails could throw at it. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a couple year old machine.
This is a pretty old video, but I'm pretty sure they're spring preload adjustable only. From what I recall there's no piggyback reservoir or rebound/compression adjustability.
I bought a 2019 900s. Base model. Bone jarring suspension. Horrible. Dealership told me to spend $4000 at shock therapy to fix it. No longer a fan of Polaris.
These "behind the scenes" videos are going to go places! I can feel it! Quick question though - Why have you guys never had a BRP DS650 on the channel? They are awesome all-round bikes and you used to be able to do some CRAZY modifications, but lately (within the past 5 years or so) the aftermarket/OEM parts scene has pretty much died out - which is a real pitty because we have 2! You should try to get one on the channel as a sort of throwback to the good old days when the ATV was still, for the most part, in its infancy. That Rotax 650 was way ahead of it's time for an ATV - dry sump lubrication, balancing shaft, twin ignition, and DOHC with dual inlet AND exhaust ports! I'd like to be out on the dunes right now riding mine, but my clutch just gave way so I've got to see what I can do (there is only one Can-Am rep here in South Africa that I know of)...
Agreed Brodie. I loved my DS650 and even when they were current they didn't get the public or aftermarket support they deserved. I wish I had never traded it in :( AJ: this could be a fun idea! Maybe as an underlying promotion of current machines about how far they have come (or regressed?). IE: comparing this new "basic" 900 RZR s to the original 800 RZR s. Or maybe a current Raptor to an old DS650. etc Thanks for all the Trax through the years AJ!
I like the idea guys, and I loved the DS 650, the last year they made it was the best. I remember being at Durham Town and ripping their MX track with it, most of the folks who had tricked out 450 MX quads said it wouldn't make it a lap so I went out and cleared every Table, double and triple and put on more laps than they could lol It was funny because I kinda didn't believe in it either then i spent some time on it and wow, they thing would rip! Lemme see if I can find a good old one around here
Thanks for the behind the scenes review. I could hear you fine. The 900S is an awesome machine! I replace the tires on every machine I buy... except this one. The dirt commanders are excellent tires.
@@dirttraxtv whats your opinion on this model rzr s vs the one with power steering and better shocks? Is it worth the extra money to get power steering and the better shocks? Thanks
Love these behind the scenes videos! nice to see what you guys are up 2 between episodes! Agree on your notes dislike nets very much borderline useless, and love the dirt commander tires.. I think were all sick of companies putting bottom of the barrel tires on SxS and ATV's!!!! Because most people dislike taking off brand new tires trying to get rid of them and then spending more $$$ on something they've shelled out plenty of coin for already... They want to wear down the tires on it (without being stuck all the time) then put on whatever tire they prefer or something they want to try..
Dirt commanders really do have great traction....undeniable! And they’re sooooper tuff. Undeniable! But they are waaaaay too soft and wear our waaaay too early! And they are soooo loud on any hard surface that I just cannot get over those traits. I replaced mine with another 8 ply brand. The dirt commander durability completely sucks! On a 1000 with 25 more hp you would not get 500 k without needing to replace em. Lucky to get 500 on a 900s
Door nets are ridiculous! They flap around and get full of dirt and mud. Having said that, U feel that given the high price od side by sides, they should all come stock with full hard doors.
I had mine up to 65 on the highways at Hatfield and McCoy’s and I think she had a little left in her. I know for sure she could have hit more if it wasn’t for the throttle governor.
The one they've had for years is not hooked up from the factory and requires power be run to it, plus it's just posts for loop connectors. The new bus bar is totally plug and play water tight connectors where all polaris engineered accessories have the same connector and plug in with power already being there. It makes install of lights, stereo ect super simple. Only thing that has it right now is the new Ranger 1000, but I think we will see it on future vehicles.
I have this exact model and I think they’re a little stiff. Not sure how much adjusting you can do to make them a little more forgiving but all in all they performed well
