about the remedy logo textures, you can find a old thread on remedy forums in which they answered to some of the stuff found with the freecam. those remedy textures are just placeholder textures that appear when a texture is missing

That cave part around 10:04 was probably a base model of a cave that had a fork and they ended up turning it on its side to use it as a straight cave tunnel. Side note but I love these videos. Any videos that take a behind the scenes look at video games is so helpful in both preserving information on how things were made, and giving people who make 3d environment art a way to see how things are put together or function. So thanks and keep it up!

I got Alan Wake several weeks ago for free on Epic Games and I loved it so much that I bought American Nightmare. Both games are great and seeing one of my favorite channels making a video about AW makes me more than happy ^ ^

I love these videos so much. Its so cool to see whats beyond the map and what canceled ideas are hidden behind walls, doors and under the ground. Alan Wake has to be one of my most favorite horror game. It’s really well made and it also gives me spooks and i have to be honest I’m kinda scared playing this game sometimes because the shadow people pop out of nowhere sometimes which gives me the jumpscare. Overall this game is great. A really well made game. Like if you agree👊

I recently replayed Alan Wake. If there are two segments I’m really curious about, it’s the police chase segment and the segment where Alan is headed to the Anderson Farm with Barry. In the former, there are a few instances of the officers fighting against and losing to Taken, and I’m curious if there are any models down there. There’s also the question of what’s on the other side of those spotlights you need to avoid. I’m also a bit curious what would happen if you had a gun in the segment where they chase you on foot. As for the Anderson Farm, there’s a car you see driving in the distance that Alan comments on as well as Barry’s perspective taking a different route from Alan as they head there. I think about these parts a lot.

I imagine you're hyped for the remaster like me. If you ever do a "remastered" version of this video I have one request. I want to know what it shows on Alan's phone when he gets a text. Mainly the one from Barry on the ferry but I there is the one later in the game as well.

Hey slippy slides I currently hold the world record for the highest score on flappy bird. (it only works on the original) i did a no clip glitch by pure accident. i think (i dont know for sure. i was like 7 at the time) you hit the roof and the pipe at the same time and it zips through the roof and i left it running for like 3 1/2 hours while me and my cousin took turns on the x box at playing minecraft. but the score was either around 1 mil or something

Lmao Slippy "remedy didn't made me say that" well if they did, they wouldn't be wrong. Anyway this video was amazing as always and now that I finished Pineview Drive, I know what I'm gonna play next :D It's very cool to see all that detailed stuff that Remedy did but I have to say that the DLC is terrible. It lost the atmosphere from the original game and is annoying as hell. I like the live action scenes and the main villain but it was made very cheap. I'm excited to know what you're gonna do next 👍🏼🌌🐔

The score is awesome, the gameplay is pretty smooth, there's a lot of little details that add to the inmersion, but most importantly, the writing. The way the story is told is incredible.

It's 'Culling', and if anyone has a slight interest in game development or, more specifically, map design, would probably be intrigued at points of culling or not. Just because it's a small segment filled with content that's not your type, doesn't mean nobody likes it.

microsoft forced remedy to finish the game much sooner, therefor the open element was scraped. it was not of any difficulties. the game needed to be released

"It really came down to the storytelling,” said Alan Wake writer Mikko Rautalahti. "We make story-driven action games here at Remedy. And yeah, at one point, it was also supposed to be an open world game, with the free roaming, sandbox, and whatever other buzzwords you would care to throw in. Unfortunately, it just didn’t work for us. From a narrative point of view, it’s a very, very challenging game type, especially for a thriller." Just going off what I read in a interview with the writer.

This game was a huge disappointment for me. The enemies were all the same, not anything monster-like (even though H.P. Lovecraft was even mentioned), the story was not that great either (The end boss was a HURRICANE for crying out loud). Yes it had potencial, and I enjoyed it for a time, but 1/3rd into the game it became dull and irrelevant. Extremely disappointed for I just played it last november after waiting for about 10 years to finally play with it...

i could say that in Alan Wake was fine that the enemies were possessed humans, especially having in mind the technology they had back then in 2010. Where i felt disappointed was in Control, like seriously? An SCP Foundation-inspired with parallel dimensions and cosmic entities and most of the enemies are humanoids as well?
