Carol Burnett is just so multi talented a joy to watch in what ever she does. Miss Hannigan & Grace have always been my two favourite’s. As a kid I always thought there was something of Linda Carter about the lady playing Grace. But that’s A whole different story. 🇬🇧 24/10/20
I would love to have seen both versions of that song. Considering how much was possibly cut, I'd wish there was a extended edition of this Annie movie.
As big and fun as I'm sure the original version on the street was, I have to agree the final version was better. With just the three of them playing off each other, not only does it feel more focused, but it is also full of symbolism for the dynamic of the trio, whether this was intentional or not. Number one, you have Hannigan and Lily constantly trying to one up each other and throw the other off rhythm, which is of course their dislike for each other. But when I think is more interesting is that throughout the song, Hannigan keeps getting left behind, slammed into walls, and basically treated like a third wheel while Rooster dances almost exclusively with Lily. This shows that they don't really care about her and are only out for themselves.
Hi! Johanna here. Born 1990, Sweden. This movie was one of our favorites growing up. And i love your performance in this scene! All three of you of course.
Warner Brothers Burbank Studios, Burbank, California The orphanage exteriors were filmed on Hennesy Street at the studio. The modified exterior of the orphanage is still visible on a studio tour.
A lost opportunity. They could've cut in the actual street scenes with the office scenes as almost a dream sequence. As it turned out, what should've been one of the movie's greatest show-stoppers wound up being neutered (despite having three incredible talents performing in it). Bad decision on the part of the director/producers.
Her name in Bernadette Peters, and she plays his character's girlfriend in the film. They were likely rehearsing the "kiss" (didn't look as if it were real, just doing the motions for blocking) before filming to see if it fit in time with the other actions, and how it would translate the the camera.
