Hey guys!! 😄 I had no idea you did live critiquing on the contests, this is amazing! Thank you so much for everything you both (Dimitra and Jake) had to say about my piece, Eternal. I am on cloud 9 just knowing you both looked at my piece and had anything to say about it 😂 lol I hear what you’re saying, Jake, about the depth and I’ll definitely work on that. I couldn’t wait to hear what y’all thought I could work on. It helps SO much. I will say, Dimitra really “saw” into the piece and that absolutely thrilled me! There is definitely a shift in plane by looking at all the different times in “space”. Think of it as a bunch of different memories, at different places, from different points of view, all collaged into one abstract painting. I hope that helps give it more insight. And, the gold really pops out at you in person Dimitra 😆 Sorry for the extra long comment and thank you guys again, SO MUCH! 🥂🙌🏼 PS thank you everyone in the comments as well!!
I think your style will evolve and perfect over time. There’s so much to explore when you’ve got all the instruments and you keep mastering them. But I agree with Jake on one dimensional aspects of the painting. If you work that one out, your pieces will sell before you complete them.
Kayla, your piece DEFINITELY was more unique. I have seen the style of the other one many times before. It was an excellent example of that style, but I di not find it "unique" at all. YOURS, however, really piqued my interest and I was fascinated to examine it more closely. I've never seen anything like it, and as far as I am concerned, that one was the winner of the "Unique" contest.
I thought Kayla's was more unique but it also lacked a focal point, to me there was focal points everywhere...I thought it was best to have a focal point in the rule of thirds, but that's my thoughts.
Eternal, also I see this printef on a blanket! Congratulations to all the artists who participated. What a wonderful competition, it was so fun to watch 😊 Zion is a cutie!
Eternal is def the winner for me. I would love to buy that painting. The color palette and how abstract yet I can tell what is going on in the painting is a yea for me. I love it!!
"Art club?" Sounds like something that would appeal to me, but if I add one more thing to my budget Imma gonna have to stop eating entirely. Maybe sometime in the future. In the meantime, I'm enjoying that gorgeous baby and the winners of your art contest!
The painting Eternal has tons of depth, it is clearly a beach coastline with the water on the right, looking at it from a diagonal aerial bird's eye view.
