this guy gets his audience, and is amazing at film exploration... I can't wait to see him as he progresses. "A hero that is a big looser" giving the screen something that we aren't use to seeing, but is exactly what we want. Let's just hope that Netflix doesn't mess up a good thing and cancel this series before it has a chance to really get going. It almost seems that is Netflix's mission statement, to create something really awesome, then let down its audience and cancel it right when it gets good. Netflix's biggest failure in my opinion was MINDHUNTER. easily one of the best series to come out of Netflix, and only got 2 seasons. what a waste. just one example of so many letdowns from Netflix, yet they keep giving us crap like Hype House and Resident Evil, with terrible low ratings, they they keep pushing that crap out. what a shame

Beautiful work. Espesialy syren costum. But you mention russia as an inspiration for the head piece, but they don't have anything similar. Maybe you meant Ukraine because they have very similar wedding-related head crowns.

YOOO I THOUGHT IT WAS LIVE-ACTION! LEARNING THAT THIS WAS ANIMATED WAS DEF IMPRESSIVE
@ecclesiasticman4417

I hated this. I thought it was live-action and that it was just some random goofy dances. But after learning that the animation is incredibly realistic and it's about a woman screaming at a deaf man, I respect it now.❤💚

Is that even able to call as "animation"? My best friend really work as an animator. His product EVERY SECONDS COUNTS not based on real man, real environment, all drawn by his hand one line by one line.

don't get me wrong. i enjoy watching it. but is this animation? come on.
@pontozen4845

I'm pretty sure they are professionals and know what they are talking about, also the characters and environment were created with 3D tools, everything is based on something else, no one creates anything, even if you draw a tree and say it's original and came from your mind it isn't, because you've seen forests, trees and leaves through your entire life and that's what you are basing yourself on. The movements were rotoscoped but if you think it's easy to animate movement that looks natural without doing that, you should try it yourself, literally one of the hardest things out there. Also rotoscoping is a kind of animation. Just like everything else in life, nothing is as simple as you think, and you only realize that once you start trying to learn it, it's easy for people to point fingers when they don't know much about it, has something to do with the Dunning-Kruger Effect.

its not live action, and made with an animation software. therefore it is animation animation is a medium, it can be anything-from lighthearted disney movies to something like love death and robots.

At the end of the day did you create something beautiful, something that moved the world forward in its purpose, sensibility, growth, conscience? Looking at the trailer, the answer is no. It is grotesque, dark and only gives purpose to darkness in us. Alberto, you are the perfect and an extreme example of what is wrong with this world. You believe you have created somethng unique and beautiful, whereas you have taken the world back into darkness and you will be celebrated for it. Enjoy your 15 mins of fame. This only validates my decision of cancelling Netflix.

Calm down bruh, it's an animated short where no one is completely good or completely bad. In fact, it is BEAUTIFUL and full of impressively spectacular animation, and it is also quite interpretable to your own conscience. You talk about the trailer for the animated short, which makes me think you never even really saw it. If the only thing that left you watching this short was what you wrote in this coment, then the problem is you, not the animated short. Greetings. 😉

@@Elvitiano Ah! the defenders of the grotesque, ugly and utterly horrible always use words like spectacular, interpretable, not black or white, or triumph of expression to justify creation of utter garbage. If the first few bites of food are bad, i don't need to finish the entire meal before deciding that the entire dish is bad. If I hated the trailer, by what reason would I watch the entire animation? But logic and reason seem to have taken a back seat now-a-days. No wonder even sh.t stains on underwear sells as art. This is at about the same level.
@Elvitiano
@Elvitiano 2 месяца назад
@@bmango6186 I don't need to say much more, the amount of ignorance is noticeable and ironically your lack of logic and reason is noticeable, only someone who NEVER wants to learn something new, understand something new or analyze something from an objective and unbiased point of view, definitely not I would do that. Art has always been subjective and completely interpretable, otherwise it would just be like mathematics. It's very easy, if you haven't even seen the short, you can't give an opinion, period.
@bmango6186
@bmango6186 2 месяца назад
@@Elvitiano Noticable you say? Try to be specific. Which part? Art and media world has gone down the toilet because of such ugly, grotesue expression. You assume that I do not want to learn anything new when the truth is exactly the opposite. I am far far more active in learning new things and new ideas, professionally and in personal life. But I do not need to accept anything low quality and cherish it, just because the rest of the world believes it is good. So, and try to think about it, I apply my brain and my judgement, not the herd instinct.
@Elvitiano
@Elvitiano 2 месяца назад
@@bmango6186 Yeah, it's pretty noticeable the moment you assume it's a bad job without even having seen it. In addition to treating everything with the greatest of superficialities by seeing only a trailer and nothing more. It is of no use to apply your supposed judgment, your brain and all that, if you have no REAL basis to support your arguments that something YOU HAVE NOT SEEN is horrible, just because you decided so. You also talk about "ugly" and "grotesue" expressions. But then who decides what is not ugly and grotesque? You? Only you decide WITHOUT HAVING REALLY SEEN IT what it is or is not, if it is grotesquely ugly or not. In short, that is what your lack of interest in what is different indicates, you prefer a Disney movie about friendship and blablabla, happily ever after, you are within your right to enjoy it but don't ruin what others do enjoy just because you, You haven't even seen it, you don't enjoy it.

04:01 "She can..have everything..but..cannot have that person" before this interpretation, I had thought she was depicted as an innocent victim, but it seems she also had a greedy part. 04:54 "I personally feel..free..they are trying something very radical..You can have violence..thriller, horror, nudity, anything that is adult." He was like an alchemist who can transmute rough minerals into mesmerizing gold. Also, I hope Netflix or some production will produce a two-hour-long documentary about the process of making this masterpiece with interviews with as many staffs including dancers and animators' thoughts and feelings involved in the production of this work. Genius artwork.
