When they talk about Earl and Jenna's relationships it made me SO MAD. it's not just 'unloving' or 'a problem's. It's abusive and that needs to not be as tabooed as it is.
I swear, no other musical has made me laugh AND cry as much as Waitress did. It was so gorgeous, Sara Bareilles is a goddess with music, and the rest of the cast and crew brought it to life so beautifully. One of my absolute favourites!
Everyone is coming for Colleen I’m proud of her and I love Colleen but once Colleen is gone you’re just going to leave the fandom, and that’s not really fair, waitress is a beautiful show, and I hope you guys don’t just come for Colleen or Todrick, appreciate the show and the music and the film, it’s honestly really interesting
Zachary Khan im a colleen fan but im also a musical theater fan. tbh i like a musical for the story and music people i like and know of as actors is really just a bonus.
I agree, I found the musical before Colleen, and I’ve loved it for a long time. So I’m happy that she’ll be in it, but I love and appreciate the story, the music, and the writing despite the actors.
Kimiko Glenn puts the most emotion in dawn as a character, she will always be my favorite in the musical. She is so cute and her vocals are so beautiful that I cried.
y’all do realise waitress isn’t all about colleen righttt edit: im so sorry guys this is judgmental as fuck, i had no harsh intentions and now i feel bad sorry kidss
Zachary Khan yeh i love dawn as a character but if this becomes a musical for nine year olds who watch miranda songs and see it as “the musical with colleen” it’s gonna be a bit annoyin
Okay but this is Colleen’s DREAM! Her dream is finally coming true and so we are just really happy for her. So sorry if Colleen takes the spotlight for a few months.
@@liv1985 yeah fair enough, i was being very judgmental for a while because it was all I heard but ik its my dream and i wouldnt want it ruined i feel right guilty oops
Uhhh, I love Collen but she doesn't have that Broadway sound, I'm sorry... She sounds like Miranda... alot... And she can stick to playing Miranda which is the best for her and for everyone
@@lunalovefine yes! That is exactly what I wa thinking! I hate how everyone is watching waitress just because coleen is in it not because they actually like the musical
Boble I think she DOES have that broadway sound because I’ve heard her sing on her channel. But particularly in her role as Dawn, she had to use a southern accent, which caused her to have that super nasally voice that ended up sounding like Miranda. So I feel like if she doesn’t use that accent while singing, she could sound amazing.
I remember finding out about heathers through riverdale and loving it (that’s how I ended up getting into musicals actually) and I saw comments of people complaining how everyone who is commenting on heathers is coming from riverdale and they were annoyed. I didn’t fully get it but now I do after seeing all the Colleen comments-
NolaGal2601 The movie which the show is based were a bit of both things. And I’m sure this musical has retained some of that spirit and made it for today’s social climate. And in terms of Sara’s music I love Love Song and Brave
It’s a good show. But it isn’t “life changing” i thought it was marvelous. But i felt like i just watched a quirky romcom with music. I absolutely loved the music. It was the best part
I don't know I respectfully disagree! It spoke closely to the idea of close female friendship being healthy, non - competitive and it taught me the idea of self love despite whatever boundaries are in your way.
Kayla Larsen I did like how the message was that you can make your own family. Also you don’t need a man to be happy. But i felt like it was almost too similar to the movie (which isn’t a bad thing). I’m a fan of shows based on movies that change it up just a little bit. This didn’t do that for me. But it’s still a good show worth seeing
Ben Clouse I’ll say. Although I did feel bad for Jenna having to raise Lulu on her own with her friends to help. But the story’s overall refreshing portrait of female empowerment was well put across and forgivable.
Jenny Murphy I know what you mean. I'm Irish and there is so many American musicals I want to watch. Like dear Evan Hansen and Hamilton and waitress and wicked and everything.
I'm in America and did get to see Waitress, but even if you're American you don't get to see Hamilton! The tickets go so fast that unless you're really rich, you have no chance of seeing it. I'd love to see Hamilton but have a feeling that I never will, until/unless they make a movie of it.
I mean I love Colleen and all and I wish I could see her at Dawn but waitress isn't all about her, it's been running for a few years and has many original fans, these now self-proclaimed "fans" of colleen are likely to just leave! We know she's playing Dawn, but can we just focus on the storyline and the depth of the characters and appreciate it as it is before it leaves stage in January?
k. elizabeth ok but you must realize that many people haven’t even heard about this show until Colleen. So it’s a good way of bringing more attention to the show! That’s the only important part...it doesn’t matter how an audience gets there, it’s the fact that they are there to see the show!
Saw Katherine McPhee do this in June, and it was the most incredible experience. I cried so much, and was so inspired by her beauty and talent. She is genuinely such a sweet person, meeting her at stage door was a dream come true, and she was so kind and caring. 100000000000000/10, would recommend :)))
saw it in london on the west end twice this week and i'm going again next month, i loved it so much, the story is so beautiful and the whole cast were amazing. ive been listening to the soundtrack none stop this week
Desi doesn’t fit the role to me. Don’t get me wrong, she’s very talented. But to me, she just doesn’t fit the role of Jenna. But I’ll definitely come to see the show when it comes to philly!
I saw her in Cleveland and she was very, very good. Her "She Used to be Mine" was absolutely heartbreaking. It was as if she was singing it for the very first time. I hope you will keep and open mind. I thought she was wonderful and she has an outstanding voice. This video doesn't do her justice.
I have seen Sara, Betsy, and Desi twice as Jenna. My fav was Sara, but I do think Desi comes in second, but its VERY close. Just a slight difference in interpretation that I tend to prefer in Desi. She was amazing. Both times in Cleveland for her.
i felt so lucky to see these women play these characters. they introduced me to the show, having known nothing about it before watching it in my local theatre and just.. wow. they absolutely blew me away and made me CRY. i just adore desi, charity and lenne.
Is it just me or is Waitress so imotional to the point where you cry every time. Thank you Sara for making the music so imotional like you did. Like if you agree.
I’ve literally never heard of waitress till Colleen which is weird since it seems she’s not the main character but everyone is talking about her (But I love Colleen no hate)
I just got my tickets for Costa Mesa for next month this morning. Won’t miss it for the world. I’ll be careful not to crave too much for pie after the show.
