I was in the audience during one of the days of filming and saw the finished product at Tribeca, it's simply gorgeous. Beautifully shot. Subtly adds to the live experience without being distracting. I cannot wait to see it in the theater in a few weeks! 💓🥧
Absolutely wonderful. Brings back lovely memories of the two times I've had the good fortune to see the show in London - including with the incomparable Sara Bareilles.
Yep. Saw it on the West End with Lucie, on Broadway with Sara, and have seen the tour 2x. Gonna see the movie and gonna buy it the day it comes out. That's right, I'm willing it into release right here, right now.
Amazing! so bummed to have never seen it on Broadway. Having seen her in concert, my wife and I would watch ANYTHING with Sara in it. heck, she could READ a cookbook and we'd watch it! Looking forward to seeing this on the screen! Better than butter....
Made it to New York on three separate occasions to see Sara in this. SO excited to be seeing it in theaters with my boyfriend who never got to see the show. He's in for a treat.
I've been Sara fan for 10 years and stupidly never listened to her "Waitress" EP, and I only discovered it today, only to find this being made a movie with Sara cast. I'm so stupidly lucky.
Sooooooooooooo very excited for this. Saw Sara with Jason Mraz in NY and it was an unforgettable experience. Taking the sig-O to see this and cannot wait. Hoping it will be for purchase in the future...favorite musical!!
Saw it twice at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre. So sad to have missed the return engagement at the Barrymore. So happy they filmed the Barrymore run!!! This looks incredible!!!
when a worldwide release? Cause I?m happy it's gonna be in theatres but I'm definitely not gonna fly all the way to the United States just to watch a flimed musical lol
Funny enough, I came to see a performance of this musical at NYC and missed the first few minutes of the first song, and now here they are. It's like..... it's fate. @_@
As much as I'm excited for this, there really don't need to be this many camera movements. If this is what the whole pro-shot is gonna be like, I know I'll be getting dizzy very fast.
I kind of agree. All the quick close-ups take away from the beauty of all the intricate choreography going on all over the stage. I want to see the whole stage. That being said, I’m still looking forward to watching!
They did a professional live capture of a few performances with the re-opening cast in fall 2021 with a regular paying audience. It's similar to the filmed stage versions of Hamilton or the Rent closing cast.
