Great interview. I appreciate all of the hard work of these crews and say ‘thank you’ when I see them. I volunteer for maintenance of the AT and appreciate a thank you. I also totally agree that people need to stay on the trail especially on switchbacks

Thanks so much! It's great to hear that you are helping out with the AT. You realize what a big job it is to maintain a large trail system.

Thank you for conducting and posting this interview. We all need to hear about what great work the NPS staff are doing and how we can help maintain the health of the parks!

Thanks Matt. I agree. The work they do is often thankless and yet such a benefit for us all and for the natural world.

I've always marveled at the evidence of intensive work executed by the trail crews. From an array of huge rocks pieced together like a long puzzle to create a stretch to avoid erosion to multiple wheelbarrows full of gravel located miles into a trail for similar effect. They do such important work and do it well! Thanks so much for posting this interview; very interesting!

This was great! If possible, an interview with Mr. Parker next year this time would be fantastic. Thank you so much for what you do.
