8:29 the house arrest is probably why Bathory Erzsebet is a castle with speakers for windows. A story about this house arrest is that she would have guards patrolling outside her house and in a bid of loneliness would call out and sing to them, which they hated cause she was apparently tone deaf. Some accounts state that this incessant heckling at the guards is what pushed them to block the castle's windows, and later confine her to a room. I'm trying to find sources but I found this during my vampire weeb phase in high school so if I'm wrong don't come at me
Well this may have been pure hearsay from around the time of Liz's life and death I would believe a record for it does exist somewhere even if it will never see the internet, as I've come across a similar oddity with King Arthur that makes both The Lady of the Lake, and the Sword in the Stone stories true as two Arthurs a grandparent and grandchild. Which is even funnier because Fate accidentally referenced it with Bedivere and Lancer Artoria for the Camalot singularity. The main difference is the first Arthur still died while the Bedivere carried Excalibur until just before he died looking for his kings heir, where he plunged Excalibur into a stone with an oath that only Arthur's true heir may retrieve it.
@alcaphon capulong I love how a game like this one can be unsubtle about something, and yet catch people unaware. How many would pick up the hint if they developed a Pseudo-Servant named Louis Cypher, I wonder?
I remember one day I sat down and tried to theory-craft what Liz would be like in every class. I think Foreigner is about the only class where there might be some difficultly in what Old God she'd be tied to. Whatever the case, I kind of like the Kiyo, Liz and Tamamo trio.
That is exactly how I act around every Tamamo that I meet, one is too many, and each new one is a greater evil. I did this before meeting Koyanskya, don’t know why. Never trust the fox lady.
@@cyborgcatrj6794 See... My problem is I'm down horrendous in the presence of fox girls so Tamamo, despite full well knowing how she is still makes me down bad as does Koyanskaya.
I get it, I feel the same way about any buff male servant with a shirtless ascension. For every Beowulf, a Blackbeard. Though simping got me Super Orion before I knew how OP he is, so it kind of evens out in the end. I guess the same applies with Tamamo and Koyanskaya
I recently watched a video about Elizabeth Bathory that discusses the possibility that she was not a sadistic blood drinking lady but rather an educated person in matters of medicine and surgery and perhaps the rumors about her being cruel and into torture because other nobles wanted to get their hands on her fortune and status especially since she was a single women living a comfy life. The video presents evidence of that possibility, of course in the end its a possibility however it was interesting to see the infamous Elizabeth bathory in a different light For anyone interested: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-oUNonHQ4Nc8.html
Ended up with Liz in my tutorial roll. While she wasn't my first choice, and I'm not a huge idol fan most of the time, it didn't take long for me to warm up to her. It turned out having essentially a bard who could buff my team's damage was just what I needed starting out, as a complement to Mash's defense. The idea it's her dragon-powered voice that's hurting enemies in her NP also amused the Skyrim fan in me. Like, imagine if the Greybeards, who already shake the room if they so much as whisper, started belting their favorite J-pop tracks, and that's what I see happening.
2:06 SHE IS a dragon, but all her parameter related to that are ranked down because she isn't some kind of legendary threat but rather became one due to her innocent monster skill. She did say she doesn't feel like a real one when she meet melucine, though. She s really a great character when you learn to know her. She started in CCC as an average antagonist who think everyone is bellow her until she finally understood that maybe murdering people left and right just because she doesn't like what they say and treating them as livestock isn't that right thing to do. After coming to chaldea, she learned to control herself and directed all that energy to the idol hobby by trying various other classes and finally she got to the rider class (cinderella) where she can really just speak her mind(she isn't as direct when she s a lancer) and only try to murder people who are actually trying to hurt/kill her. Honestly I really love the fact that we see her grow as a person unlike other servant who already did their things off screen or just stay the same. She really did change.
@@namoma4922 She didn't actually give up, archimedes messed up her mind to make her more merciless to the point she even tried to call for help before the process is done. But archmedes didn't plan she would pretty much act however she feels like rather than what he think is logical. The extella version is kind of between between after CCC and before fgo.
@@namoma4922 Nope in extella (archimedes' side story ending) she was just singing outdoor, minding her own business but archi decided he could use her as a puppet so he gave her velver power which basically made it so she could no longer hold her murder impulse back on top of getting a power up turning her into the heartless monster she was pre ccc character development. In one of her ending (which turned out to be all a dream) she defeat everyone and make them her slaves and basically use the master as walking blood bottle(she treat them like an object rather than a person) and considering she isn't willing to go that far, that just show how much she s holding back.
@@namoma4922 Also more proof that chaldea eliza is the same than extella eliza. In the saber version's valentine event when the master says that her choco look like a ring, she complain about saying that no servant around would eat rings or else matematicians would complain about it. An obvious call back to that time she ate one of the ring(regalia) when in velber mode and archimedes(which himself is a matematician) started losing his shit because he though he couldn't get it back after she did that.
The hole about that theory is that house Bathory was even richer and more influential than house Nadasdy. Her husband even took Bathory's family name instead of the vice versa.
I really enjoy watching/listening to your videos, to get to learn an enjoy pur favorite historical figures in fgo is fun and your humor makes it even more interesting to watch
I'm so glad a servant from my home country is so popular. Her NP name BTW if anyone doesn't know is just how her name is written and spelled in Hungarian. The VA actually prononces it really really well too.
Did you know that before FGO there was only Elizabeth Bathory and so had the combined personality of Eli and Carmilla, especially seen in the Fate Moon Cell games that shows her being incredibly sadistic, sexist(of both genders), bloodthirsty and violent combined with being short-tempered, having a fascination with singing, talking cutesy and having a sweet tooth.
I haven’t gotten a Liz, but I got Carmilla from the tutorial roll. Unfortunately for her, I got Jack the Ripper as my first 5 star so I never really used Carmilla cuz Jack is just a much better Assassin 😅
I really want Stephen Batory, king of Poland mentioned by you, to be in game as a Berserker and to see how would interact. I like to imagine Stephen having cringe over Eli's idol style of life and Eli to call him "Nii-san no baaaaka!" non stop. Stephen would also have interactions with Ivan, since he attacked Russia and won a war against them. There would hold a huge hatred toward eachother. And personally, I just want Polish Servant in game
Love Eli-chan! She appears in FGO like she does in Fate/Extella, like a certain Useless water goddess you're stuck with! Except this time Liz gets same appreciation.
Probably not next unfortunately. Proto Arthur would be done alongside normal arthur in one video. Issue is that video is going to be like an hour long. But! I promise it will happen eventually!
Ah yes right The part in our history that i hate the most When Hungary got split into fuckin 4 pieces basicly cesing to exist for a few years........ I hate this place
So this video comes out right about the time i finally got Carmillas bond CE. Thank god for this event. I always found both Liz and Carmillia interesting, as like you showed they come from different sources but fate makes them the same character. It does make sense though at least for fate lore that they could be the same. Now i just wish Carmillia got more love
And this is my issue with Carmilla. The fact she is just CCC’s Elizabeth Bathory. To explain, when Elizabeth is introduced in CCC she is an insane torture maniac who believes everyone is beneath her and is extremely obsessed with making Hakunon hers... in every way of the word. She slowly goes through character development, like all the Alter Egos, and eventually even helps Hakuno survive and obtains an interest in being an idol. FGO for some dumb reason took Carmilla, said “let’s give her Elizabeth’s original personality”, and called it a day. Carmilla even suffers the nightmares of being trapped in the castle, which is something tackled in CCC when Elizabeth was trapped inside a mind space by BB so she could relive her eternal nightmares. Basically, FGO Carmilla is a waste of a character, even worse than Apocrypha’s Vlad (at least that one represented Vlad’s nature as a ruthless yet efficient lord). Also, Elizabeth’s constant class changes started in Extra CCC where she was originally a Lancer and later a Berserker.
Since Elizabeth and Carmilla were originally the same person at different periods in their life, but only one of them underwent change after entering the Throne of Heroes, why exactly would Carmilla not be the same as Elizabeth in the beginning of CCC?
@@artofthepossible7329 My point is that Carmilla is pointless. We had her character already in CCC. If we wanted a repeat of that character but without the Kishinami interference (that leads to idol shenanigans) they could have just made an actual adult Elizabeth without the vampire crap. The actual Carmilla has her own story and interesting lore attached to her, which the FGO version completely ignores by merely making her an adult Elizabeth Bathory. At least Vlad was ACTUALLY part of the inspiration for Dracula.
