this is a tough one, as is the case with most behringers. the envelopes sound very nice. filter is pretty good. oscillators has a good rich character to sculpt with. i guess at the price, its worth grabbing every one of them i appreciate these good quality patch demos

Very good job. I bought the Cat, but haven't realised it's full potential yet, but you've demonstrated how versatile this thing is. So many of these patches are exactly what I'm looking for, so I think the Cat is definitely going to be useful.

Hola excelente la explicación se entendió espectacular. Una pregunta tengo un behringer cat que tiene entradas VCO, VCF fc, VCF q y VCA. La consulta sería si se puede conectar con un korg SQ1 con salidas CV y Gate a esas entradas del behringer.

Limbic Bits The “Poly” on the Poly D is pretty bad if you’re expecting to play like a normal poly synth like the DM12. I think of the Poly D as a feature packed monosynth with plenty of tricks up it’s sleeve. In that regard it’s a mono powerhouse!

I was zooming a photo of the CAT and i noticed it doesent have any arpeggiator button. How do yo do it? You make a sequence or a loop with the Arturia?...im a beginer.. im about to buy the CAT... will be waiting for your answer.. thanks

Yes, the arpeggios have been done using the KeyStep.

Hi There, great demo. I'm looking to add a dirty aggressive monosynth to add to my Studiologic Sledge and Yamaha MODX. What would you recommend?

Hi, as an aggressive mono synth I'd recommend the following (in order from less aggressive to brutal) 1. SE Roland SE-02 (its XMOD can lead to brutal sounds) 2. Behringer K2 3. Korg Monologue 4. Novation Bass Station 2 (FM, Overdrive and lots of possibilities) 5. Erica Pico System III (brutal sound but sometimes hard to control due to the small pots on the surface) 6. Every synth mentioned above in combination with a Proco Rat ;) Also I think, that FM can be used easily to make aggressive sounds. Maybe you'd like to try MODX in combination with an analogue overdrive pedal to give it some dirt?

Absolutely- I’m not a big fan of the arp sound, that’s why I haven’t thought of it. But its character would be a good fit, too.

Right - forgot about this one, too. There are way too many synths out there it seems. I only know the microbrute better, though. So I don’t like to give a clear statement if or if not it fits well. From what I’ve heard of the Microbrute I’d guess so.

The ADSR on my unit does nothing! I am still pretty new to monosyths, so I'm sure it's my lack of knowlege. Can someone enlighten me?

You might want to try to lower down completely the Filter Cutoff and set the Env Amount to 70 %. Try also to lower down the filter eg's sustain and you should hear how it works.

Great thanks, and awesome video. Any advice on how I can learn to understand this synth better and synths in general? I just printed the manual and plan to read that.

@@tylergates4075 Reading the manual is always a good start. Then, try to recreate some patches you like. Read a bit about analogue synthesis and keep on exploring your synth by trial and error. And a very important thing: Never buy another synth until you have fully understood the synth you're using currently.

You can recreate some of the patches but they won't sound 100 % the same. I'd suggest to first copy some of the patches as described in the video and make your own adjustments until it fits your personal taste.

It's quite simple. Either you use a 5 pin MIDI connection and play it directly with a MIDI keyboard. Or you control it via USB with your computer.

thirfy tash when you move the pitch on osc2 while sync is on it will sound glitchy. it’s not worth sending the unit back. just something to live with. this video proves it’s still worth more than what you pay for it. ;)

Oh yeah I saw that part in the starsky video about the sync glitch, I thought you meant some new glitch he found in his newer video which I haven't watched yet, I'll have to test that on mine but either way I actually liked that it did that and kinda hope mine does it as well, it's something different from other synths, and I have a few other synths that can do sync correctly anyway, but that glitch might bother some other users, I thought you said thete was a glitch with the sub 2 osc, that's what was worrying me 😂

Yes, I've experienced that, too (when using sync). I didn't care too much as I've sent the unit back after the video for other reasons. Not a bad synth but not too awesome either. And I like to keep my synth park limited to essential stuff (essential for me, obviously. Others might find the CAT essential for their music production).

It's analogue but capable of doing audio frequency modulation. This might result in a more fm-ish sound in some of the displayed patches

got it crazy synth super fat nothing wrong with the first oscillator sync the first one is a medium sync second is a hard sync it’s modular fat three tracks at the time if not is too much cholesterol need some skinny wave tables and samples to garnish the sound the electron cycles can do super tight timing
