You can set the number of steps for a pattern if you want it to be shorter than 16. You must do this before going in to pitch mode. Start with a cleared slot. Press and hold [function] then tap [step] for the number of steps you want your pattern to be. Now enter pitch mode and enter notes as described in this tutorial. If you have done this correctly, the time mode will reset after the number of steps you entered. Note that you can enter an unlimited number of notes in pitch mode, but only the last X notes you entered will be saved in the pattern. When you enter a rest or a tie, it will push notes out of your pattern, but in the opposite direction. It is very confusing, but it is easier to understand if you Imagine the notes written on a line. Notes entered in Pitch mode will push the whole stack of previous notes to the left. Rests and ties entered in time mode will push the following notes to the right.

The muffler attenuates the high frequencies so if you're playing in a club it'll stop the harshness when you drive filter resonance.

This guy is the master of TB303 and TD03.. he just knows the stuff! It took me days to understand the TB303 back in the 90s and this guy just explained it in 5 min.

HI great video, can i use a pattern from an usb for example from fl studio and play it on the synth without a computer connected?

How do you manage the slide feature when is sequenced by the octatrack?? Is it possible?? And there is no preset sound right? Would you have to save a midi part on the octatrack to stablish a preset on the td3?? And last question, which parameter/know are you changing on the octatrack? Apart from the scenes, I'm curious. I just recently bought a "normal" TD-3 from Thomann, I'm very happy with it. However, seeing the TD-3-MO already makes me think if I would like to have it as well. For some reason I'm more productive with HW as compared to SW. This might be due to the fact that it is more intuitive to me to press buttons & turn knobs rather than move a mouse. The TD-3-MO has the capability to open up new sound design possibilities together with other HW. Currently I own a Behringer Crave + Neutron where I feel they would fit quite well to create some interesting sounds/patterns.

Regarding the Muffler...The manual states the following: "MUFFLER - this switch affects the VCA output at higher levels (off and two soft clipping modes). Position 1 removes some high frequencies to smooth the sound when extreme resonance is used. Position 2 removes even more HF content."

I thought it had an actual useable arpeggiator? If it's the same non-existent "arpeggiator" as the TD-3, are you able to midi sequence an arpeggiator on the TD3 using the octatrack?

Does the red accent button stay in when pushed like the red sub osc. button or do you physically have to hold it in while pushed ?

I just got a brand new Behringer TD-3 MO and a Behringer DDM4000 Digital mixer. Very happy camper with Behringer. I will connect the TD-3 MO to my Auturia Keystep controller to program beats. 🤗 I also just purchased a Roland FANTOM-06 Digital Keyboard Synthesizer 🎹. This board have all of Roland's drum sets and any instrument you could think of. I'm a Dj with real records and CD's. I don't need no turntable no more. I'm a one man band. Good lesson.

Die drei stark klangbeeinflussenden Features (Overdrive, Muffler, Filter FM) wurden meiner Meinung nach nicht gut beleuchtet im Video. Ich habe da irgendwie kaum was gehört. Das Testpattern und die Synthparameter waren dafür einfach ungünstig gewählt. Und was macht eigentlich der rechte Accent-Button? Der ist doch auch neu oder? Ist "Overdrive" dieselbe Schaltung und selber Klang wie der "Distortion" aus der Classic-Version?

Has anyone noticed with this TD-3 MO the back button does not work when editing the pattern?... mine only allows me to go forward. I also have a Roland TB-03 which also has the back button and that works no problems.

are those holes for patching? can you show off a video explaining them and showing them off

on the first behringer td-3 you can gently put the slider between the osc options, and it would shut off the main sounds and let you use the filter in without internal sounds, if that makes sense. i wonder if you can do that and hear just the sub oscillator on these or if it even does that or if it just kills all sounds?

Hey dude, excelent review, very clean and useful explenation! Just have a wuestion regarding external sequence from octatrack: how do you send accent, slide/glide in the sequence? I don’t have an octatrack is that something build in in octatrack as well? Or you can increase velocity or decay in separate notes and it will work?

If you want to controll the TD3 MO from an external cv/gate sequencer.Do you also have to connect the "filter CV in" or is "CV in/Gate in" connections enough?

I got mine today. Is it normal that there is no sound when overdrive is at zero? I do have to open it just a bit to hear a sound.

I hope this message finds you well. I recently acquired a Roland TR-8S drum machine and I'm having some trouble figuring out the best way to connect and sequence it with the TD-3. I've tired to Midi cable out of TR8S to the in of the td3 and Sound Output of the td3 to the mono in of the TR8S no luck. Could you share any tips or guidelines on how to properly connect and sequence the TR-8S? Any advice on cable management, syncing with other gear, or general best practices would be incredibly helpful. Thank you so much for your time and assistance. I really appreciate any insights you can provide!
