I love what Behringer are doing. I have to admit I was very sceptical at the start and fully expected everything to break and fall apart, but look where they’re at now! SO f**king cheap for such awesome gear. I need all of these. 😂
@A_ L_ M_ is that really true or is that just commitment to the scepticism? I completely agree that before, yes. Garbage. I’m thinking of their early Pioneer DJ mixer “clones”. But even though I’m sure they’re not made from the same exotic materials as your high end and boutique synth companies, they can’t still all fall apart and break surely? Have you owned much recent behringer hardware? Surely if they were still continuously falling apart they’d have no market? I heard that the deepmind had some quality issues initially (again I fully expected that) but that things have moved on? And for the price of that I’d absolutely feel more comfortable going with one of the big hitters, but lower price stuff is definitely tempting!
Meh... Should've taken a couple of hours to play with it first. In the future Spinal Tap movie about synth players, this incoherent git is the first character stereotype to lampoon. Q: "What's the muffler?" A: "I don't know" LOL ugh.... Painful demo.
Thanks for the kind words mate - just spent an hour watching a ton of your videos - incredible!! Hats off to you Sir and thanks again for stopping by Xx
Jack, i swear to god, if you are not sponsored by the Subway i really don't know whats wrong with this world. Hit'em up for some deal, because you've sold them a ton of bread;).
The word you were searching for was possibly flexible lol 😅😅. Love this dudes knowledge on these bassline clones. Aceeeeeidddd. How fitting your names , " Jack " lol.
Behringer will need a bigger factory at this rate , this is huge! a Bevilfish for under 200 notes !?? are you insane ! ordered and waiting open mouthed ...
The mad thing with these is Roland could have done it themselves! Think they said these couldn’t be made any more because the parts weren’t available, they clearly are! Stick the Roland name on there and charge half as much again and they’d have sold more than Behringer has! Glad they didn’t though lol
One of the best parts of the Devilfish mod for 303 was the rewrite of the programming OS. The entry of notes and all was made MUCH easier than the quite arcane and weird original operating system that Behringer ,while aping the original, stuck to (I'm assuming out of "respect" to the originals design). This modded version was another opportunity to cast off those "bad" attributes in exchange for a better workflow
I have to say you guys are making very well made, interesting and entertaining videos. It's still advertising but i love to see that you're have tons of fun doing it.
can you make the mo sound like the td-3 at all states or does it have its own character? (or also: is it like a td-3 + extra function or a "new machine with more functions" ?)
Ordered! Sounds superb. I'd be very keen to hear how running this and the TD-3 little brother can be complimented using some effects pedals. Bit blasphemous but could be fun.
How does the TD3-MO compare to their Crave tho? I just grabbed a standard TD3 after seeing the previous video you guys did on it and it’s PURPLE which clinched the deal. Crave must be doing something right as everytime I decide to grab one they out of stock. Thanks I already have way more analog monosynth than I probably need but you know GAS ;)
@@JamesCorbettMusic5000 I did, yes. Would have been nice to get an update from them but I think it’s a moving target so lots of time for it to miss that date.
Just weeks after I finally bit the bullet and bought me a TD-3, now this comes out. Ah well, I expect I have time before it's available to save my pennies, and then add it to my growing collection of Behringer kit 🙂
I just got mine and was wondering does the red accent button click down and stay like the sub osc. button or do you have to hold it in the on position …i just wanna make sure i didnt get a damaged unit
I’m surprised Robin Whittle (creator of the Devilfish mod for the 303) gave Behringer the Okay to make a Devilfish 303 clone. (Robin had some choice words for Behringer, and because he is Australian he did not mince them)
I do not want to get involved in these discussions but it is just plain wrong to think that I licensed the design or helped in any way with this product. Please see the background: www.firstpr.com.au/rwi/dfish/behringer-unauthorised/ . I was keen to collaborate when first asked. However the only commercial arrangement I was offered was wildly unrealistic - something which could only come from someone who either was totally incapable of conducting normal, mutually beneficial, business relationships or had absolutely no interest in doing so. On the bright side: I avoided the horror of actually having a business relationship with someone like this. I expect other small companies will be subject to the same process, now brazenly laid out for all to see. It is quite something to see a multi-millionaire fancy himself as an heroic Robin Hood figure, with Moog Music, or me, the villains who deserve his plundering attentions.
5:43 tbh, i've been waiting for a 2-in-1 solution, 2 of those things in one module, with integrated tr-808 and tr-909 and integrated delay, distortion, pattern controlled filter and compressor. You know, the full ReBirth RB-338 in one sweet fully analog hardware package 😍🥰 Sure you can go out and buy 2 of these things and get behringer's tr-808 and 909 clones as well, but from a price perspective and an awesomeness perspective, i'd still like to see it all wrapped up in one sweet acid-package 😎
909london.com is most probally the most reliable to legitimately get his tunes unless you wanna hunt down actual records. He used to keep a upto date soundcloud account but I'm not sure if this is still the case
Who else has midi notes freezes from higher BPM or adjusting the tuning while sending midi to play Td-3-MO? Trying to figure out why this synth freezes all data from midi more than any other one I own
I have a real Devilfish 303 and a TD-3. Behringer as ever screwed Robin, the modder over because he offered to do a collab but Behringer refused to pay. You can see emails over on his site. I’m not sure if they ever had a real Devilfish to copy as they’re so rare Does the TD-3 sound like my Devilfish with mods disabled? No. It’s noticeable easily, but is it worth the £2,000 difference for an unmodded real 303?That’s down to you. I would say probably not (I bought my Devilfish for £1,000 10 years ago) I’m going to get a modded out one to see the difference!
As much as I want to agree with you, it seems like Robin was a bit of a prick about the whole situation. Uli responded to Robin saying that they dropped him, sharing private correspondence where he wanted either $303,000 in compensation or 10-15% back on any sale they made. Seems like someone's just a bit pissy that they're cutting into his "sale space" of overly affluent synth collectors. People will still come to his synths and he knows that. This whole situation is stupid. www.gearnews.com/devil-fish-hits-back-at-behringers-proposed-murdered-out-td-3/
Why would Behringer pay someone else when they could do it themselves, it is not good business sense to do that. Secondly Robin over charged and took advantage of the situation, Behringer has listened to what people asked for and delivered, they are the only company to do this, and the price point is fantastic. People love to hate on Behringer, it's almost a trend now.
@@Cull_Obsidian so... you're saying that a humorous number in compensation or $20 out of EVERY sale made is a reasonable request? That's someone's hourly wage being siphoned off to some prick in Australia who's trying to keep the vintage boutique market cornered, a market that he knows damn well is not jeopardized in any way by the release of this model. Hell, if he played his cards right then he could've had *more* attention with this product's release. I know that I haven't though about Devilfish in over 15 years before this drama popped up, that's for sure.
😂The sort that's been buying second hand kit til he got outta the squat and got involved with Andertons... Sorry if u found it triggering 😂😘 next time maybe I'll just attack the face of it with a Stanley knife, that may be a better approach, what dya reckon??
of course influencers get this months before the public does ! Same BS with previous Behr.TD3, backorders, lack of availability, unreliable commitments, etc.
Nah, i got the TD3 / RD6 pack and love it. Not much interested in the mod and the original devilfish guy seem a bit like an ahole. So, perhaps i get a MO now anyway... :)
It'd be great if you could educate the rest of us who are a little new to this after all these years away from music. What do they need to revisit in your opinion?
David Gaunt he said a couple of things that are incorrect. He thought that the cv output for the accent is to control the accent length when it’s actually an output for the accent. And he’s also wrong about needing two 303s to get the devilfish mod done.
@@vivianedwards3205 I think this was his first 30 mins with it and putting it all together in what looks like a short time can't be easy. He's clearly experienced so a couple of slips can't be too much of a worry but thanks for jumping in :) Going to order one?
Idk what it is, but that synth sounds like shit to me. I mean for behringers price point, it’s not a terrible buy, but it just sounds like shit man. I’m sure I could mix it into a track and make it fit nicely, but still dude. I’d rather find an EG, a nice filter, and make my own 303 style stuff, cuz that’s just not doing it for me. That’s one of the worst 303 sounds I’ve ever heard.
It is NOT the Devilfish mods, because as usual Uli Behringer didn't want to pay enough money to licence it. The way you guys were talking about Robin Whittle and his Devilfish mods was disgusting. You only need to do a little research to learn how difficult it was to develop and perform the upgrades Robin did. UNSUBSCRIBED
Your never going to get a decent technical review when you decide to use Subway boy , he just brings the whole thing down too many notches , he should be doing childrens television!
From what I've heard, DevilFish was being a bit of an asshole and demanding much more money than was feasible for the project. DevilFish and Uli from Behringer both recorded the call. DevilFish released bits and pieces of the transcript to make Uli seem like a bad guy, then Uli released the full transcript which shows the opposite.
@@elliotalewel3163 If I'd spent 30+ years of my life making something that has become world famous in the electronic music scene and a rich man with questionable morals came along and told me 'accept this low-ball deal or not. Whatever you choose to do, I'll still take yr idea and make it my own,' I'd proabbly be a bit of a demanding asshole as well. I'm guessing Devilfish is a smart, passionate guy. All he asked for was a % of each sale. Sounds pretty reasonable to me.
