Behringer X32 - Interfacing & Connection Help with XControl

That is correct! 10 iPads can connect to the x32 through a wireless router. All 10 sessions are different, but if you are all on the main page adjusting 1-8 faders you will see any adjustments others make. Also your musician can be on stage adjusting his/her bus mix at the same time you are mixing yourself on the mains. It works wonderfully!

Thank you for your answer. Can you control the access for each of the iPads? For example, iPad(#1) can only make changes to bus 1 and (iPad#2) can only make changes to bus 2 and so on.........the x32 does have many great useful features! If you go to behringer's site, find the X32 product page, then it is under the downloads tab on the X32 product page. Same place where you would find the firmware updates for the X32.

If you used a CAT5 "crossover cable" I am sure you could. Sorry, I don't have one so I can't test this. But the beauty of adding a wireless router is that you can now mix away from the board via an iPad if you have one.

Drew - you know enough about networking to be dangerous. Please educate yourself with some networking 101 because you have the aptitude to get it right....you are mixing a lot of terms and concepts. With that said, you generally do a good job and the solid knowledge you do have is appreciated.

Yeah I would try that, I can't imagine why it wouldn't work. For the subnet mask, I think that the normal 255.255.255.0 would still work, and for the gateway ip you would want to put the IP address of the computer. Then just make sure that the IP address of the X32 is in the same range as the computer. example computer=192.168.0.1 X32=192.168.0.20.

I was reading all the comments I am getting the compact Version of the x32 still excited to experience some of these cool features. So setup a Router Connect X32 to it the main port then setup up iPad, Macbook Air and all the other stuff to control remotely... via the Application for OS X or IOS devices. Just trying to get the understanding of all this it would be really cool. I know this is a really old Post but Way to go Drew for Filling in us Dumb Founded individuals on this Digital Mixing Age LOL ;-)

Your IP address names in this video are incorrect. Well atleast one of them is. On the x32 network view, the top IP address is actually for the console, but you named it to be for the router. Just a heads up for other users. Thanks, I have found your other vids useful though.

Drew I have a x32 producer and the s16 snake. I was able to get all 32 inputs working thanks to your video. I am stuck on getting the 16 xlr outs all working for monitor sends? the only ones working are on the back of the x32 and it only shows 8 in the xlr section? thanks

Hi, thanks again for your videos. From what I heard you can have multiple iPad and xControl sessions (I think it is 10). The question is: Can the connection be concurrent? Also, if the musicians wants to work on their monitor mix would it interfere with what the FOH soundman is doing? Thank you.

Hey, I have a question when it comes to the remote control and I can't seem to find an answer to it anywhere: can you connect the mixing desk to the computer via USB? Because under the Remote Control section behind the desk a USB is listed next to the Ethernet connection. I wonder why only Ethernet connection is mentioned in these kind of videos. Technically you assigned the IP address of the board as the same IP of your router 192.168.0.100 is the same as 192.168.0.1 Is that on purpose?

what port does the x32 use? i'm pretty sure its UDP, but not sure of the port. i've heard 3350, and 10023, but neither of them work.

Hi - on Behringer website it only has a download called X32-Edit ...... not 'X32 Control' Have downloaded 'edit' but it looks different to your screen & does not automatically go to a screen in which to connect to the mixer.... The Mixer has a WAP in the rear (which I use to mix on an i-pad live no probs) I have logged on to this WAP with a laptop..... Have tried the set-up tab in the PC s/w but it cannot see the mixer even when I type in the IP manually.... any ideas? malc

People be warned. These people who make these training videos have already gotten their unit connected, and they barely understand WHY it works. You are not helping people. That assign button locks in the value. Your 'router' could be the internet service you are paying per month, or the wifi hub that is connected to your mixer, or the network cable you have connected from your laptop to the mixer. You went over that so fast, you are not helping people. I'm going to make the only video that will help people. All these X32 remote control videos are useless, and don't help at all. The app from X32 has specific values that come up and are locked in, can't be changed, and this MUST be discussed. It is all hacking, hit and miss because these videos are not helpful. .
