In this video I doa quick unboxing and look at the features of the Behringer Xenyx 1002 analog mixer. If you have any questions about this mixer or similar analog mixers please ask. I will have some tutorial videos up soon for connecting to a computer, DSLR, iPhone, and audio interface for various applications. Thank you for watching.
I have been using the Behringer Xenyx 1202USB for live streaming as I can plug a microphone into it as well as my larger mixing console into it, and I can plug my USB audio interface into it as well if desired. Works well.
Hi Zane. You mentioned about how to route cables into and out of an audio interface so that you can monitor everything. Is it latency free? I'm assuming it applies to any instruments that you plug into the mixer too. I've heard people say that they experienced latency while recording this mixer but I'm wondering if they routed the wires wrong.
Hi! What do you suggest portable behringer mixer I can use just for my vocals during my gigs, atleast 2 mics can be connected to it. Thanks in advance!
Absolutely loved it. Thank you so much. I just picked up one of these and I can't wait to figure it out. I have zero experience with mixers but I'm interested in starting a Podcast. This video will help a lot. Now its onto your other videos on the model. Slainte!
Nice video, thank you. As for the recording sound quality, would you go with the usb version of 1002usb and record via its usb interface or with the one in the video and record via PC onboard sound card? In theory the mixer usb goes 48khz and the sound card up to 192khz. I have a decent Realtek ALC892, if that helps.
Hi, i just got your video and i am wondering if you can help me with one doubt. The manual instructions are really crappy and my mind kinda messesd up about the fx routing. I am trying to connect it to an external distortion pedal and i got that i must plug the fx send to the pedal input but i dont know where to plug the out signal from the pedal. The instruction kinda suggests that i connect the out effect in one of the channels, but i dont know if thats it. But if so, does it apply the effects to all the other channels? Thank you very much, really apreciated your channel.
Hey, thanks for this. I am looking for a simple PA mixer and this looks attractive. QQ: is it possible to eq the mic? Some times you want to curate the speeches from the mic.
I saw this video and the one with the audiobox and this mixer. I'm curious why not simply have a mixer with a USB out and then the speaker out of the computer feed the input to the mixer and then you don't need an audiobox.
It is ok to use that if that's what you have. it will work but RCA cables are unbalanced so they could allow interference and noise to creep into your audio. Give it a try and if there are no issues, stick with it.
@@revilotandayu7764 here’s a video where I show how to connect a mixer to a computer without an audio interface ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-NU76spK22Ig.html
This is great. Thanks. Now, I need the other videos that you had mentioned at the end of the video. I have the fx model but still analog. So, I would like to know how to properly plug this to my laptop that has ONE plugin for headphone and mix. Is there latency with this? I'm running Acid Pro Online Suite. Do I need an interface?
I am actually working on a video right now showing how to connect it directly to a pc without an audio interface. There will be a bit of latency as there is with everything. How much latency will depend on your pc and the built in sound card. But typically it’s not too bad. Sorry the video isn’t posted yet but I should have it done very soon. Thank you for watching. Keep creating! 👊👍
nice video. Im just wondering, if i put a headset into the headphone output, can i then use the EQ sliders on the channel 1 and 2 to adjust the EQ on the headset? Im then going to connect the mixer to the pc. is this going to work?
I just bought this and I'm setting it up with a MXL 990 mic. I'm getting nothing but static when I try to use it. I've played with the gains and it's not working. I have my cords plugged into L/R Out and have Phantom on. I've tried fiddling with a lot of the dials etc, as well as mic settings on my computer. I'm not sure how to fix it, do you have any advice?
@NixtliGames ok. I just wanted to make sure. Have you connected headphones to the mixer to see if you can hear the sounds directly through the mixer? Just to make sure it’s not speakers or cables causing issues. Also you’ve increased the gain knob near the top and also adjusted the level at the bottom? And also the master level will need to be up too. The 990 will likely need the gain to be around 1 o clock or 2 o clock maybe even 3. Then you should be able to use the level control to adjust the level if needed. Another thing to try is turn off phantom power. Disconnect the mic. Then plug it back in and turn phantom power on again. You never know sometimes that can work. Also turn the mixer off and on (unplug and plug back in)
Thank you so much. I'll try all of that. I will say I have tried messing with the gain knob a lot, tried it in many positions, same with the level knob. I tried plugging the mic into the other mic port just in case. I unfortunately don't have headphones to plug into the mixer rn though.@@AudioTechTV
The fx send will go out to whatever you want to connect it to and then you would bring it back in to an open channel on the mixer and that acts like the send return.
It can be for whatever you want. It cuts frequencies below 80hz. Which is typically used on voice but you can use it on whatever as long as you know you’ll be cutting those lower frequencies.
Yes you can. If you don’t have an audio interface you can connect it to your existing sound card and it will be used just the same as your sound card so you may not need to change any settings. Here’s a link to a video where I show how to connect it to a computer without an audio interface ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-NU76spK22Ig.html
@@AudioTechTV How can I connect the speaker to the Mixer? Do you have any tutorials on how to set up this mixer to Computer/laptop with Speaker? Thank you!
If you followed the tutorial I sent last time ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-NU76spK22Ig.html you would connect your speakers to the “Main Out” section. The outputs are 1/4” so if you don’t have studio monitors you may need to purchase an adapter or cable that will work with whatever connection your speakers have.
