we have a similar recipe here in the middle east but with little difference! to make it more crispy, we add some cheese!! like craft or cream cheese. we also usually eat this with "syrup which contains only sugar, water and some seasoning like Saffran or lime or rose extract" or we can eat it with honey or date syrup. and it is reallllly delicious.. for those who feel worried not to succeed, you need to try it first.. it's worth it.. thank you for sharing this recipe .....
sometimes I wonder what people did that led to this point where they can make beignets and videos like these, as I'm eating my three day old leftovers.
I had this exact same thought right now. I can't imagine how people discovered they can make granulated sugar out of canes, flour out of wheat, use chicken eggs, cow milk, that vanilla is actually good and goes really well with most desserts, and what about instant dry yeast? And chocolate?? It's crazy! And combining all kid of ingredients and making incredibly tasty food is just mesmerizing. We all evolved from monkey-like creatures and look where we are now. Not only thechnology, but food and crafts. It's just fascinating.
So to give some insight from what I’m bout to say beignets are a traditional French pastry but I come from new Orleans in Louisiana which is a colonized place most famous from our French and Spanish background we also have a very huge Cajun and creole population due to this. My parents current r under control of the main cafe de mu in the heart of New Orleans I have seen beignet making all my life. I think it just might be the cute way very similar to the way I’m use to but it is definitely a very clean way you do it. Mines has a lot of the dough already still there so when u bite into it it’s had a lot of dough in it instead of like a shell u bite into then fill with ice cream and strawberry. But this design of it is actually very nice. I like looking at ways people would cook most traditional home meals I’m use too. So this is a refreshing way to do it. I also noticed that they are very small in comparison to ours but that might be chefs choice and to why it didn’t have much filling in it as it should. Anyways that’s my small ted talk ❤️❤️😊

OMG these were so hard to make, or more like I never found the right recipe. I've been trying to find this recipe for ages. I've tried doing it before from some recipes I found online many years before, but they never worked. Thank you for showing this recipe. These look exactly or the most exactly like the real ones in New Orleans. Especially the hollowness on the inside. I'm gonna try it soon! Thank you again for the recipe.
This makes me miss the Midwest. Loads of french cuisine far away from France. Nothing like fried dough dusted with sugar 🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤 And I love big blocks of butter!!!!!
Actually, they are called beignets and have been served at the Café du Monde in New Orleans since 1862, brought to Louisiana by the Acadians. Do not learn your history from Disney, it makes you look silly.

@@tessdurberville711 personally I felt they were somewhat similar? of course café du monde has much better ones, but I felt these (at least when I made them) were quite good. Sorry if I have misjudged, for I am not a food critic.
I can't believe I made this on first try! Beignets look intricate to me. I was doubting the rate of success when I added the butter. I think even 20g is too much in my case, I will cut it down to 15g next try. Maybe because she's using a stand mixer, I hand kneaded my dough.
It may be difficult to knead by hand since the dough has a lot of moisture. If you knead it by hand, it is better to reduce the water content instead of butter.
