March 18, 2021 - Asia Society President and CEO Kevin Rudd delivers an address outlining how China views the newly-inaugurated Biden administration in the United States. Rudd then discusses the trajectory of U.S.-China relations with Bill Bishop, editor of the popular Sinocism newsletter, and ChinaFile editor Susan Jakes. (1 hr., 35 min.)
Read Rudd's unabridged remarks here. The Avoidable War: The Decade of Living Dangerously - a collection of speeches, articles, and essays produced by Rudd over the past year - can be downloaded here.
The program coincided with high-stakes diplomatic talks between the U.S. and China in Alaska, which began on Thursday. See Asia Society's complete coverage of the summit.

Former PM Kevin Rudd comments about China - US relation is worthy to be complimented. I guessed living in China as a Australian diplomat gave him an insight knowledge about the Chinese characteristics sentiments toward the Western nations.

Kelvin Rudd was first the prime minister, but later toppled by his deputy Julia Gillard in a cabinet revolt. Later he was appointed as the foreign minister by the Gillard government.

Any chance you could interview Ambassador Sha Zukang to get a UN-inspired perspective on current developments and how we could learn from the UN experience?

Very informed and intelligent discourse. The current Australian Govt has a dumb foreign policy, special in its relations with China,
