I worked in tech since 1999. It has always been a d-measuring contest with lame conservative right wing code bros and the flying monkeys who love them. I quit and started teaching computers in late 2010s. I am sure it is better now, but not much better. The last coding job I applied for was 2018 and it was a total prima donna ballet, theatrical suck up to the boss, social media performance show. I honestly could not believe it. I can not imagine the level of daily torture it would be to work under those conditions.
