Every engineer should be required to spend 2yrs in the field of whatever their degree is in. They all think the degree makes them smart! Also if he wasn’t a civil engineer he wouldn’t know jack about building a pond!

Engineers know all about engineering. Yes they are very smart. No one knows everything. I dated a brilliant dr that didn’t know how to prime his lawn mower. Some are highly intelligent but just like all us humans, can’t be astute in everything.

Dude- I have taken care of patients whose spouses were “engineers” and all were convinced that they knew more about nursing than anyone else and more about medicine than the doctors involved. They are SO difficult to cope with

Reminds me of my Dad...Stubborn sometimes...He will argue, and then someone will SHOW him some proof that his theory is incorrect and he will blow it off because HIS idea makes more sense 2 him...

@Bee Bubbly ...my brother built his own pond...in his own yard...but he TOTALLY KNEW WHAT HE WAS DOING...and when he explained...the..."eco system "...within his pond...I couldn't BELIEVE how gentle....and caring...and thoughtful....of what kinda fish...plants....when....where... etc...you seem to know...I DONT...lol...but the point IS...its like a science...and 15+ years later....His pond is pretty much ...uh...self sufficient I guess would be the right words...but he does every now and again have to do a little something...sorry for the long azz text...

Never buy a house from one either - I speak from experience. One-year home warranty rendered nearly completely worthless because the jagoff tinkered with just about every appliance in the house INCLUDING the central A/C unit.

I hate to generalize but in my experience they make really difficult patients. They also tend to be terrible to deal with when they are healthcare decision-makers for a loved one.

Oh, you are right. I've never had a pond, but many fish tanks. Both fresh and saltwater. You have to let everything settle and allow enough time for the correct bacteria and other microorganisms to take hold. The plaintiff added fish in two weeks. Crazy!

My bet is that the installer never talked to them about that. They didn’t even know they put the filter in upside down.
