don't knock yourself for starting to love yourself at your age, I got divorced after a 31 year marriage and at 61 now loving myself..... and it's amazing!!!

I walked away from marriage with my baby and left everything behind. I had planned my escape for 6 moths!! All I took from my house was my clothes and my baby’s nursery furniture. My ex-husband last words to me as I walked out the house with my baby in my arma were “ you are nothing without me and you’ll be back with your tail between your legs in less than a moth. It has been 12 years, I have the most amazing son! I stated to work and I am now the VP of my company! Those last words he said to me played back in my head often and it makes me lmao 🤣 He thought he could keep hostage because of a house?!? I’m nobody’s hostage! and my son deserves the person I am today. It ain’t easy, but it is so worth it !!! ❤

I love being alone & don’t allow anyone to making me think that being alone, being an introvert, loving my home & being genuinely happy as I am is short of being “depressed” or anti social or boring…be u & do whatever makes you feel comfortable good happy in however way it pleases one…

first you romanticized marriage and now divorce and living alone. you just go from one exaggeration to another. There is nothing wrong with single life, but don't idealize it, and above all, don't sell it like that to the poor followers who see ideals in you.

There is so much noise out there. It's deafening! I find so much happiness in being alone. People often judge others based on their personality, mostly extroverts - dont understand us introverts.

Glad to gear you are gaining your strength as you are healing. My best advise is to keep looking foward and never look back. Cause it can take you to a dark place. Love this. I went through a breakup Dec 2019 and then distracted myself for a few months through the holidays and then Covid stay at home hit. I really had to be ok with being alone and okay with all the changes.

Wow, Erica. I am 24 years older than you. I was in a marriage for 30 years and have been single for 7 years. Girl, you are an old soul. Everything you spoke to, is spot on!! The independence, freedom, loneliness all make us so strong and cool!!! I love not having a “dude”. But, I wouldn’t mind a dude on the side.

Erika, I’m not alone but same as you, I didn’t understand how to love myself until my late 30’s and it took me a whole journey of struggle to get there 😢 BUT when I hit rock bottom it was like an awakening, an understanding of “Oh…I have to change, I must change and I absolutely will rewrite my brain, those limiting beliefs, and begin the journey of love and acceptance for myself. After 6 years of that, I was still not perfect at it, but definitely a more whole and peaceful person. And, the journey also led me to write my very first every children’s book plus coloring / activity book called I’M SOMEBUNNY SPECIAL - Lovey Bunny’s Epic Journey. I’m so damn proud of it. I have a 15 year old daughter who struggles as well with this same issue but she sees me living by example! And she reads my children’s book 😮 and does some of the drawing prompts in the coloring book and she gets it. I first and foremost wrote that story for me and to me, but it’s affecting others as well and I would say, the journey to self love is worth every bit of pain. ❤️‍🩹🌈So proud of you. I’m so thankful I had a season of singleness in my late 20s before I met my partner. Everyone thought I was crazy when I broke up with my long-term bf and I would be an “old-maid.” But that time was a crucial learning period for me, and I would not have the amazing partner I have now if I did not go through it. It was hard at first, but I ended up loving that time in my life and look back on it fondly. Learn to enjoy being single and ONLY get into a relationship with some who positively adds to your life! Once you go through singleness you have much better discernment when picking a life-long partner.

So you're hitting one milestone after another. It's like the process a bud goes through to finally unfurl fully into a big sexy flower ready to say 'Look at me' this is what I was born to be! Step 1 was kind of 'co-dependent no more', step 2 spiritual crisis, step 3 discovering Self, step 4 will be 'healthy attachment' and then you will be on the other side of the equatiion. Hope you can accept all that has and will played a part.

This is a lie. Being divorced sucks, being single in your 30s sucks. Will you move on, yes. But it still sucks. Should I have married better…yes. Does the universe care…no. Best to skip all this and get married when you know it’s right. I got married when I didn’t even know myself.
