Good on Simon for being a good boss. ChipFat does amazing work - there's no need to work him into a grave! If Sidemen Sunday goes out late, that's better than working ChipFat so hard that he quits. There is also a thing called the "Mythical Man Month" - just adding more people doesn't make the work go faster.

I think this hate comment about it been the only thing they look forward to each week and arrange their week around watching on a Sunday maybe says more about that persons life I mean come on

I completely understood what Simon meant in the podcast, firstly, Chipfat doesn't need to go under weeks of torture just so I can watch a video on time. And second, it's literally JUST a video, it going out one or two or three or four days late isn't and shouldn't be hurting anyone's life! Is it a bummer? Sure! But that's about it! no honestly i completely agree with you on the delayed Sidemen Sunday, i’ve been in Chipfat’s position before and i know how stressful it is to complete such a complicated editing task, and truly a DAY late is SO reasonable considering how complex the edit was! you did nothing wrong in that situation Simon and i’m sure CF appreciated the support from you ! (ps the final edit was so worth the extra day wait anyway, so no one lost in that situation bar the people moaning it was released a day later)

How do people have the energy to be upset over a video coming out a day later? I watch whatever is in front of me I don't care. I have work and actual life to worry about. It's the fact that people have the energy to go on youtube/twitter and actively go to war for a video being late. If your life is so dependent on a video going out on sunday, sort it out!

people need to watch the behind the scenes from Kon's videos. They need to realise how many camera's the crew uses for the sidemen Sundays. Imagine having to go through ALL those camera files and choosing which parts to use in the video, combining them and editing them. No matter how good of an editor you are, it takes a lot of time, effort and sleepless nights to put all of it together for videos of this scale. Props to chipfat (and the other editors as well) for still trying his hardest to get it on time as soon as possible, but Simon is right: they have lives as well and it shouldn't be a problem at all if a video is delayed imho.

The people hating on Simon for what he said I feel lack basic common sense, ChipFat is GOATed but he's also a human being and he needs to be able to live his life, who gives a shit if the expected video on Sunday is put out a day or two late? That's all Simon was saying as he explained himself, there's no need to push Chip past his limits just to get one video out on the usual day and it's okay if he physically cannot finish it on time, his individual health is more important than when the video goes up and anyone with a sense of logic can see that. Everyone that commented on it was being so entitled and the only ones letting their egos show were them, just because you expect something at a certain time doesn't mean you're always gonna get it at that time and Simon even said that if a Sidemen Sunday is late, it's always for a good reason and it has nothing to do with ego or throwing people under the bus like all these fake fans are trying to insinuate. This literally broke my heart, everyone hating simon over a video, not caring about why and what's the reason behind the late upload. They are the sidemen, be it the members themselves or the camera crew or editors, everyone is responsible for each other and care for one another, obviously simon will not care if the video is late for the upload, he cares for the editor's health. To me, sidemen is not made up of only the 7 members, but instead, it's all the people behind the production of the videos.

wellbeing of staff prioritises everything in my opinion. unhappy staff = bad content. i know audiences see the entertainment industry as glamorous and easy going, but that’s just not the case. let’s look at retail and hospitality jobs, managers will double your work load, shout at you for not reaching deadlines, and then wonder why half their staff have quit six months after they started. if you want good work done, just keep ur workers happy. i’m glad to see simon standing up for chipfat, his editing is irreplaceable.

I feel you guys should do a quick BTS video of the editing process and everyone’s footage and pov’s from the among us irl in the editing timeline. Like pre editing and after all is said and done. That is so many hours of footage to go through and sync up

Yeah I think the only problem with sidemen Sundays being delayed is when it’s a processing issue with RU-vid and no information is being relayed. So everybody is just around waiting. there's a RU-vid channel I watch who post every Friday. And this week I found out minutes before they were going to post that there wasn't a video this week. Yeah, it was a annoying for a bit but I just rewatched old videos from them. and still I get to enjoy a new video next week!

Honestly, the quality of editing ChipFat does and the amount of footage he had to go through for that video, of course it took time. No reason to deprive him of sleep and having any resemblance of an actual life for a video to be "on time". The Sidemen are so consistent and true fans understand they all have their own real lives outside of RU-vid and that sometimes a video is posted late. I think those hate comments are from kids who never experienced life prior to the internet or had to live through dial-up internet, haha.
