One of the core themes of the Book of James is explained: the danger of being someone who only hears God’s word and does not also do it. Here is a link to David Guzik's commentary on James 1: enduringword.com/bible-commen...
This is something that we as Christian will battle with until we go from this earth being doers of the word and not just 🙉!! This is my pray for strength to obey each day and it's a battle because each day we learn about some area that we have fallen short of His Glory!! But not I that lives but CHRIST that lives in me!!!
God help me not only to be a hearer of the word but also a doer! I bind every spirit that speaks but that does not do in my life and those surrounding me to the pit of hell while I will not be yoked with an unbeliever serving satan, als I bind all the filth of wickedness in my life and those surrounding me to the pit of hell, in agreement with this whole message and loosening James 1, psalm 91, 2 corinthians
I approached the leader of our congregation if there are any"poor" in our church that I could help and he didn't know any such people in our church. Maybe our church is quite blessed that there are no such people but now need to look elsewhere. Very good Word of God and very well presented.
Got it, this exposition is very practical in Christian life now days. Book of James is very easy to comprehend. At the verse 19 - 27. He gave us wisdom above that we can literally conduct in daily life.
In agreement with this whole message I bind to be doers and not only hearers of the word in accordance with james 1:19-27, 2 corinthians 6:14-15, matthew 6:24, 1 john 3:10 for myself, my family, friends, colleagues, neighbours, acquitances, those around me, my opponents and the body of Christ while binding to hell all filthiness and overflow of wickedness and binding to hell to only hear but not act out the word of God, binding myself not being unequally yoked and have any common share with any evildoer serving satan that is only a hearer but not a doer of God his word, in the name and blood of Jesus Christ, amen and hallelujah!
🙏🙏🙏🌎 Amen. Thank God for the book of James. I am greatful to understand the book of James. The Bible has so many teachings for life. I am so grateful to get help and study. Thank God I will return home and honor my marriage and family a better steward
I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. Today (August 9), this was to have been the basis for our Sunday School Lesson of the Day. It was entitled "Hearing and Doing the Word." Sadly, due to the Corona Virus outbreak, we have suspended Sunday School until further notice.
God bless you Pastor Dave! Thank you for continuing to put out these teachings. It helps me personally and to prepare my studies for the Jr. Highers. I am praying for you!
Thank you so much for doing these studies for us! I appreciate your candor and attention to detail. May God richly bless you as you do the work and encourage us along the way!
Great message! A group of us from church do a jail ministry at our local county jail on Sunday afternoons. That is an awesome opportunity to Do as James said. Anyone "looking for" something to do, look into something like that for your local jail. I honestly get as much (if not more) out of it than the inmates that participate do. God bless y'all! Galatians 6:2
It's true, it goes beyond naughty words, people can be lying and use the queen's English but spreading falsehoods. I love theses verse, as it really emphasises Integrity and to care for those who need support. Beautiful message ❤️
