What got me to seeing this movie was it's poster. From the beginning you can notice that it is a weird movie. At first it was slow, but the very good cast of actors made me wanna keep watching it. At the time when Cameron Diaz took the center, the movie took a very smart and very interesting turn, and a new plot took place. It kept getting better and better, producing at times some interesting philosophical ideas about who we are, and what love is and how much the body can play a role in choosing who we love. The script is very smart, the direction is better than good and the actors, especially Cameron Diaz with her addictive personality and John Malkovich with his acting that looks both serious and comical at the same time, will make you wanna keep watching it till the end.

@shazanali692
@shazanali692 3 года назад
@@gregsoon521 The odd, delightful, disturbing Being John Malkovich has a few bits of Shakespeare thrown in to the odd, delightful, disturbing mix. Malkovich, whose brain (in the film, at least) can be entered from an odd, disturbing tunnel, is rehearsing for a performance of Richard III, and we hear a few lines from the play and see a rehearsal interrupted. But the following use of Shakespeare is far more amusing than those incidental Shakespearean interjections. In this scene, John Malkovich's body, inhabited by a formerly-under-appreciated puppeteer, is watching a documentary about himself. Listen to what the announcer says about Malkovich's future: The key line-"Well, to quote the Bard, 'He's got the world on a string'"-is horrifically delightful on a number of levels. The documentary feels a need to work in a terrible pun, but it desires to give some credibility to its own nonsense. The answer? Shakespeare. The theme is caught up by Malkovich's next line, in which an unnamed and unreferenced authority called "the poet" utters some more seeming nonsense: "As the poet said, 'The puppeteer's voice need not merely be the record of man. It can be one of the pillars, the props to help him endure and prevail,' and I believe that.

I think it would be really cool (and I've seen people on pages like Reddit with the same thought) if they released a Virtual Reality experience of the film, you wake up as Craig Swhartz (hearing his thoughts through the day) , go to the office on the 7 1/2 floor, find the portal to Malkovich's mind and let the rest play out, I don't know if they'd have to make any changes to the plot. So you'd be in someone's mind in someone's mind

omg I had a dream of the U.S. version of The Office and Being John Malkovich mash up. Where I was Michael. And Michael was being chased by Dwight, as Dwight's inner older dying man was desperate to switch into Michael's younger body. They chase each other until they end up at the office. They have to pretend everything is fine. The word gets out. Suddenly you see a LOT of other workers, almost playing a psychotic game of red light green light, closing in on Michael as you realize they are also run by old souls inside their own bodies (meaning they're not actually their own true personalities), and all of a sudden you see Jim, and he's the scariest of them all. Because he gets the closest and then plays all coy and kind like the ole Jim who everyone loves, but he's the first to try and enter your own mind when you turn your back. And his old soul is more determined than the rest to take over your mind and kick you out of the drivers seat. And you're left on the sidelines for these STRANGERS who used to "drive" Jim's personality, to take over for the rest of your body's natural life. This dream woke me in a panic. Jim was the one to beware of all along. Look out for Jim.
