God is so faithful that He presents a suitor to every women from the age of 16 years when He bestows readiness for motherhood, but modernity's "right to choose" has now made women quite picky. Unfortunately, people have developed their own programmes such as education, career etc. When a woman misses on this opportunity/offer they start praying for another chance. But the choices keep on dwindling.
I resonate with a lot of Sheilla's views. At 39 never married with not kids i think as you grow older and invested in things that interest you, marriage becomes a secondary need.

U feel that way cuz society has brainwashed a lot of us into conforming to what they believe is the right way to live by stigmatizing those that don't line up!! There r so many miserable souls trapped in marriages esp females that they don't want. Society pushed into into it thru families n religious leaders! Otherwise, they wouldn't be married if they had the guts to stand their ground!! Bottom line, don't let anybody bully u into marriage or having kids u don't want! Take charge of your life as adult n don't let anybody tell you what to do with yo life period!!
I'm turning 30 soon, single Christian actively waiting. I relate with a lot of your ideas except for the part of being okay with being single. I really desire marriage but I'm scared of doing it without God. In as much as I want it badly, I want to do it God's way. That's why I will wait amidst the doubts and worries. I'm just working on trusting God and accepting that he doesn't withhold good things from me. Thank you for this interview, it has given me hope in God.

Honestly sometimes you are single and its really not your fault. The church prepares people for marriage but never for singlehood. What if you'll never get married is a very good question. Almost 40 and also accepting that i may not get married. However when told i had chances of getting problems as a woman... i was advised to give birth... i had to.. being a health worker... but yes.... it is well... God is so good... and life is awesome.... married or not...

Sheila is beautiful in and out. My mum always says there is no life that is more ideal than the other. I think there are many ladies out there like Sheila, to whom marriage and children are not the defining part of their life.
The most unique perspective anyone can give on trusting God and I love that she represents a view that not everyone is made for marriage or children. We cannot harass God into what we think society expects. He is God and he loves us more than we do ourselves therefore he knows.

We need to learn not to be consumed by society's expectations but rather we should be more concerned with God's expectations and plans towards us, for His plans are always good. There is a need to inculcate a discipline of trusting God and looking to God. Both seasons (Marriage and Singleness) are a blessing if we really have God in our lives and put Him first, but we always cross the lines without God. Again, thank you for sharing Shaila.
What a coincidence, l have learnt great lessons from both Sheila's from this episode and the Sheila on Kambua's episodes strong women indeed and both stories so deep yet so encouraging.
I am not yet in my 30's, currently in my late 20's but I can relate to almost everything in this conversation and as much as I strongly desire marriage, I believe God is not withholding anything good from me. It's quite an encouragement to know that it is indeed possible to remain sexually pure, upright and faithful (true to your faith) to God no matter how long "the wait" maybe. Thank you Lisa and Sheila for this, it really spoke to me!

it surely is never too late with God. He is always on time. pressure for marriage, ahte babies (1st, then 2nd born- mwaana muzeeko,,, without even buying a diaper for you), etc etc is real and very frustrating. it's good she has her voice and can speakfor herself unlike some of us that just fodge lies eg "work-in-progress" and plastic smiles

Now I have a few questions : 1. How do you continually celebrate others who are much younger than you and get married and have babies nga for you no show? Have you ever inquired of God as to why its taken long?
Thanks for your questions. I think I answered the second one already... The first, like I said... I recognize that marriage is a gift from God and I can be happy for others (younger or older) who marry and have children because I also get to share in their happiness. It definitely helps that marriage was never a goal for me. I realize that because we can want things so bad, it may feel like God is holding out on us. But is he really?! Knowing and experiencing who God is - is honestly what makes ALL the difference in my life!! As for those that recommend deliverance, I tell them that the Cross of Yesu is enough. Trusting in Yesu means just that. I honestly think many times we desire what God can give more than God Himself. But, I would rather have Yesu.... than anything else or any one.... It helps to know that only God can truly satisfy. Not the best spouse or even the bestest of children!
The truth is she's not married because like she said she's not actively asking for it. We are tought that miracles don't go to where they're needed but where they're expected. She's obviously not ready for marriage but if she is then she'll have to renew her thoughts and actively pray about it, interceded for God to help. The truth is as you're active with every area of your life career etc to see significant results you'll have to put thesame effort too in your marriage life. I love your contents Lisa.. No o! life doesn’t happen same way for everyone. There are a number of female Christian singles in their 30s and even 40s who earnestly desire to be married but are not. Should they now go out of God’s will because they really want to be married? I love her contentment in God because it is instrumental to a thriving relationship with God. Besides there are a good number of people who received marriage proposals when they were not actively seeking for it. Life Happens! It’s like the issue of having children in marriage, there are a number of Christian marriages still without children and tbh, not being so fixated on that thing you want is what will help you not to lose your joy as a Christian in waiting seasons
A pastor once told me that single people are the most busy people. They always have a lot going on in their lives. A lot i mean engagements, fun things, traveling etc. However, we went ahead to say married people have so much time. When you call a married person they are at home and have time. Try catching a single person at home doing nothing, nope, they are busy doing life.
@LisaKusiima You will be surprised to find that a lot of married people have time in their hands compared to singles.The said way you were surprised to see a young lady who is not over thinking about marriage. There are so many young ladies here abroad who do not even want to have kids or get married. Even just here here in Kenya, young ladies are not interested.
Everything in life needs understanding and understanding marriage is what makes marriage beautiful and not just getting married. I wish I could meet this wonderful creature of Jehovah Yahweh.
