Sounds like the defendant had another party coming up that she was planning that was red and black and that's why she went with that color and decided to keep the decorations that the lady paid for. She wanted to pocket some money.

The plaintiff could have just used the $1800 for the party planner to buy a swing set etc. The defendant was argumentative - hopefully she learned her contracts needs to be more specific - this could have been avoided.

I’m very confused by this whole scenario. Let’s do some math… This is a private business holding a fundraiser to make improvements to the business. If 70 people were there at $50 a person, that’s a total of $3,500 coming in. Why would you then take $1,800 of that $3,500 and give it to someone who you claim was only hired to “set up” the tables. Subtract the party planning fee from the total, and that means you’re only actually raising $1,700 toward your playground. Anyone with a hot glue gun and a few hours could’ve made those drag-queen-earring-looking centerpieces for the party. Take your $1,800 and invest it into the playground for your own business and stop charging your friends to go to your birthday party! …All that said, the defendant had one of the worst attitudes I’ve ever seen on this show.

The plaintiff is very lucky that she was awarded any money. There were so many mistakes from the start. There should have been a detailed written list of what the party planner was supposed to do and provide. Also there was no written contract and the biggest mistake was not having one particular person assigned to the door and taking the payments. All around this was a fiasco waiting to happen

Judge Judy would never take statements, I understand why, anybody can get anybody to write something, Judge Judy is right that she won't accept written statements unless she can interrogate them

To me both parties are lying. The Plaintiff did pay for and pick the red and black decorations, she most likely had someone at the door collecting money as well. I also believe the defendants uncle pocketed some money. The math doesn't add up, neither does the whole night. And that whole fundraiser for a playground for the "kids" seems like bs to me

The defendant really failed her job in organizing the party, where the money was embezzled and no account was kept on who showed up. And according to the case, she also pocketed funds that were meant to be expenses for the party, and may have stolen the funds herself that was collected at the door - that she blames on her uncle. I don’t think it was the plaintiffs responsibility to keep track of the collections at the door- that’s why she hired the defendant. Mistake by the plaintiff to trust and hire someone that embezzled. Certainly she has a right to try to recover her funds. According to the defendants own words, there were 50 people there meaning $2500 should have been collected - not $350 . Means at least $2150 was taken. And additional embezzlement on expenses. The defendant now becomes well known as a thief.

This party planner is unprofessional she did not follow the venue of what the customer wanted .she's got the wrong settings for the table abd wrong color skeem for decorations. she did not have a proper contract listing for what she provideds.

plan your own party that centerpiece is hideous lol ...i did a 70's costume party for my 50th ; chicken was catered , soul train backdrop and 70's decor Amazom $55, i made sandwiches, got chips, sodas, bought cake..we did karaoke ..hall was $350 /50 ppl (got my 75 deposit back ) printed my games off the internet , I had prizes for best costume/raffle --we had a ball
