That beautiful baritone voice - adds character to any melody. The little trills and flares in his singing, he sings like he plays trumpet. Can't wait to listen to the new album, horns or no horns.

I first heard this song when I graduated from college in 2015 and I got my first teaching job. When I went on my lunch break I would play this song and go for a walk during my hour lunch break. I stayed in shape, and my mental health improved. I this song!

No No No is such a great album, 2015 is becoming the best year for albums i've been looking forward to for years. I'm just thinking that if Zach did a Take Away Show singing Gibraltar on the streets of Paris again, jeezus, that would be glorious. It'll just be like Nantes.

Can people just stop complaining about how Zach had abandoned his old style? Try to have an open mind and appreciate the simple elegance of this song. I personally love it. Also, please don't judge the whole album based on only two singles, it's just not fair.

I hope some of the other songs on the album can capture their old balkan folk sound, I'm liking what I'm hearing off this new album but i cant help but feel that they are playing it a bit too safe with these new songs. The new stuff is great when compared to other bands but still not at the old Beirut standard :)

As much as I love their old style, I think it was time for something a bit different from Beirut. But not something so radically different where you can't link both styles together. Zac is currently writing about a happier time in is his life and it's definitely being reflected in these two songs. "No no no" having some pretty deep lyrics for such a a simple song. A lot of their old stuff sounded so similar it was hard to differentiate one song from the next. Keep in mind the two songs you've heard so far are meant as attention grabbing songs so people are enticed to listen to the rest of the album. I'm sure the real treasures have still yet to be heard

Not the biggest fan of this album, but there's something refreshing about this song. It feels like a nice breath of fresh air after such a long hiatus. Best choice for the album opener IMO.

@@eymanyouwell Interesting, so the question was about the structure. Nothing was asked about the instruments used. I don't know about music exams or music theory but I think "Gibraltar" has a relatively simple structure. Especially when compared to other Beirut songs.

The album leaked! I'm listening to it now. At Once is so beautiful! Quintessential Zach! So beautiful. Wish it were longer though. Now I'm listening to August Holland. It sounds a lot like a song you'd hear on The Riptide. Very East Harlem like. Now "As Needed" has just kicked in. Interesting... As much crap as I've talked about the first two tracks, I'm still happy with a new Beirut! Oh, and I'll definitely be buying the album on Friday.

+AdamGB81 I've listened to the album in its entirety, and the two singles in my opinion are the worse songs on the album. There are some gems on this album, especially the last track. It's short, only 9 songs, but it's heartfelt, something that the singles lacked. That final track is a tearjerker for sure!
