Beirut has been on my bucket list forever. Hopefully I’ll visit when the travel advisories improve and the situation to the south improves

Yes - its a really difficult time for Lebanon. When we were there, there was quite a bit of fighting on the southern border, but Beirut was largely safe from this.

Guys whats your story, I also want to travel along with my spouse but the monthly paycheck is keeping myself tied up. Please do some video on how you guys were able to achieve this at a relatively younger age. Love your videos. Keep it up.

Oh, thank you so much! We're stoked you're loving the videos. You've actually inspired us to make a video on this topic - we're going to start shooting tomorrow. So, stay tuned for that!

We usually look at them but Lebanon is special and is quite expensive for the amount of data you get.

I feel sad that you don't appear to have had a nice time in Beirut. It's a very weird video. I hope this is not the only video you are doing about Beirut. But if it is, it does not do this place justice. Yes unfortunately the center of the city has been affected by the Thawra, economical crisis and explosion, and it is currently sad and deserted. but that's because the shops and fun moved elsewhere. Actually there is a market there on the weekend. And lately they've had fairs in the holiday times. After the war, they decided to build "posh" shops instead of the traditonal markets (souks) of before. However all the other Lebanese cities/towns do have a traditional souk. You could just cross the road from the Place Des Martyrs, you have beautiful churches and mosques and museums to explore, Saifi village, Sursock Museum, Roman ruins. Gemmayzé and Mar Michael are full of places to eat and bars at night. And it's good food and nightlife. I don't know what "alternative tour" that was, and yes there has been war and conflict, but it's part of the story, not the full story. Beirut has really cool places to go out, check Instagram. Lebanon is actually a beautiful country

Sorry the video didn't resonate with your experience in Beirut. We tried to do something a little different with this video and focus on one particular aspect of Lebanon/Beirut - the economic crisis. Beirut is a beautiful city, and we would encourage others to visit and experience the sites you mentioned for themselves.

@kineticpassports Something a little different? Your video felt similar to what the Western media has shown for the past 40 years. It’s true that some of what you said is accurate, but life in Beirut doesn’t stop there. Markets, shops, restaurants, and nightclubs have either moved or reopened nearby. I hope this isn’t the only video you’re doing about Beirut because it’s not “something different”; it’s the same stereotypical image the Western media wants the world to see.

Great review! What was name of your hotel?
@kineticpassports
@kineticpassports 28 дней назад
Thank you! The hotel is The Parisian Hotel: www.theparisianhotel.com/ They took USD - most bigger hotels, restaurants, etc take USD. We only really used LBP in small shops or street side purchases.

Also, is it ok just to use American dollars and not exchange for Lebanese pounds?

What transportation did you take from the airport to the hotel? A taxi? Uber? Or did you rent a car?
@kineticpassports

We took a Bolt. Which is an app similar to Uber. You do have to negotiate the final price with the driver. Usually 2X of the price you see in the app.
