May I ask why I would want and or need my induction range to be “smart” so it can be controlled remotely by an app? I think of cooking as a hands on activity; therefore, controlling the temperature of my range remotely makes me think I will need another app to call the fire department for a kitchen fire! Please forgive my sarcastic viewpoint regarding need for a “smart” app to control my cooktop.
Sad truth is appliance manufacturers are desperate to tap in to the kinds of revenue streams provided by the digital experience. A normal range is good for 10? 15? 20? years. Hard to make billions in profit that way because everyone just buys once. But if you can sell a range that becomes technologically obsolete, then you sell more ranges because people start wanting the new model every 5-10 years. Think of refrigerators with touch screens. A touch screen from 2014 would feel very slow and low-resolution now, let alone 10 years from now. Meanwhile a good "old fashioned" fridge can last through half a family generation.
Pretty much every slide in or professional range brand out there offers at least one glide rack in their ovens. All varying degrees of quality. Most allow you to also purchase additional racks as accessories.
Please discuss the differences in ceramic glass top quality, some seem to be built better than others. I like the clear glass look of last generations GE Cafe line. Thanks
The vast majority of units are made by SCHOTT. They can have different textures applied that will help with seeing surface scratches etc. but the quality of product is about the same.
@@YaleAppliance1 thanks, it’s shocking how vastly different they all look. I mean some look so used after a short time and others seem to stay new after years.
