I wanted to thank you for putting together these videos. I have inherited a 1989 Belarus 250AS and am trying to get a better understanding of how to use it, service it, and repair it. Your videos are definitely helpful, especially since this is my first tractor.
We have had our belarus 3011 and the factory service manual for 6 years now and your videos have helped put the pep in our step. Thank you for the great how to! Also wanted to let you know we got the ford loader fully functioning and mounted onto our tractor with your helpful videos and know. You rock thank you!
Great video, I have a Belarus T25a1 which is basically and earlier version of yours. I'm about to change out the starter with a similar unit as you did . Did you do a video of that? Sure love to see a picture or vid of where the cables and wires run! Keep up the great videos
Sadly I was in a hurry and did not do a video of the starter swap but it is not hard at all. On the 250AS there is just the battery cable to starter and then the wire from the key/relay. Then 3 bolts that hold the starter to the bellhousing and that’s it.
I am checking all the fluids of a T25A1. The steering box fill plug\vent I removed and the oil I pump in is draining into the hydraulic pump\drive housing underneath. Is that normal? The old manual I have says to top up steering box and the picture just shows a pipe plug with no vent. Thank you if your able to reply
Hey how are doing ? Enjoy the videos of the Belarus , I just bought one but mine never had the bracket around the shifter to show what gears you are are in , hard to find the proper gears , wondering if you could show the shift pattern it would be a big help thanks.
Absolutely, I can show that first chance I get. On our tractor there is also a sticker repeating the shift pattern on top of the toolbox which is mounted on the left fender. I’m not sure if this sticker is reproduced anywhere but it would be an easy slap-on fix to remember it for the future. It’s pouring rain right now but I’ll shoot a quick shift pattern vid tomorrow if that would help you out.
@@oldfaithful4112 posted a quick vid, it is up now. Should be the same shift pattern as I believe the 250’s are all the same trans basically. Hope it helps! Link is: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-dbO2sdyRSZE.html
Just wanted to make a little suggestion about the throttle lever. Start engine set throttle lever to lowest acceptable idle , now get a 4" "T" hinge laid out flat , put on fender with 4" triangle tang just touching behind throttle lever slide hinge to the right so tang doesn't droop now on rectangle side of hinge mark and drill three holes fasten with bolts or 1/4" pop rivets. Now with hinge installed to shut down engine, merely flip 4" tang unto itself allowing throttle lever to return to off position. To start just raise throttle lever past tang flip 4" hinge back over to left now you have a throttle lever stop to idle. Wish I could have used a picture, basically the hinge mounted flat keeps lever from going too far to shut down
There’s no dipstick or anything on these tractors, so to be safe I make sure all hydraulics are fully retracted, then fill it full basically almost to the top. That way when the hydraulics extend the level will only get lower.
@@trubio46 interesting.... mine doesn’t have one. Maybe like the trans level check plug on mine that is also missing. Maybe that’s why my manual totally glosses over that section about checking the level....
A battery for a light truck fits nicely, which is what I use. I have tried a large semi-truck battery but it’s just a hair too wide to fit. I think the one I use is about 700 or 800 CCA.
The 250AS has two brake bands, one on each rear axle. If they aren’t working then the bands may need tightened or replaced. It’s a manual system: basically the pedal tightens the band around a drum to stop the axle. There is an access cover for each brake, I believe you have to remove the seat and plates over the top to access them.
@Lance Marlow if you are close to us we may be able to set something up to get you the rollbar... if you access the link to our site in the lower part of the vid description our email is on the site, you can let us know your zip code and we can see if it’s possible. Thanks for watching!
@Lance Marlow the first thing I would check for the three-point would be the hydraulic pump disengage lever. Make sure it hasn’t slipped and disengaged the pump. It will be the lever on top of the pump on the right hand side of the transmission; it should be in the outer slot to work if I remember correctly. As far as the trans, sometimes this does happen on these tractors. The first thing I would verify is that it is actually going into gear fully with the shifter, and not being held out by the interlock or some interference. If you can verify BOTH the range and gear levers are fully engaged, then the problem lies elsewhere, maybe with the clutch. But sometimes if I don’t get the range lever fully engaged, or the forward/rev lever fully engaged it won’t move, even though it sometimes feels like they are engaged. I know that sounds obvious, but it is something I still accidentally do occasionally driving this all the time.
