The union flag represents the United kingdom which Northern Ireland is apart of, and the red and white flag with the hand is flag that represents Northern Ireland as a country; and the people as Northern Irish (British).

At long last the vast majority of loyalists have realised that the democratic decision to remove the sectarian flag was the correct one. Unfortunately it has taken these people a year to realise this.

Future is bleak for the South, they're protesting every week in Dublin about the state of the country, because of their governments housing, immigration and healthcare problems, which will intensify when the EU and single currency falls through the floor.
