For most people wanting to fly to or from the Island of Ireland, Dublin Airport is the first port of call. However, for people who live in Northern Ireland, that is, on average, at least a whopping 100 MILE drive to the airport, however, there is another way for them to get there, by bus. Translink (Northern Ireland's Transport Company) offers express Goldline coach services to Dublin Airport almost 24 HOURS a day. Transferring you from the city centre of Northern Ireland to the door of the airport terminal in just 120 MINUTES.
Since I had a flight to get from Ireland's Busiest Airport, I decided to try out this Unique Cross-Border bus service. Is it worth it? And would I use it again in the future? Find out in this video!

Brilliant video! I liked and subscribed! I did this same route recently but on the Enterprise train so it's cool too see the bus equivalent.

Great video. This service looks excellent, and as I am a bit on the shorter size (5'3") am never bothered by limited legroom!

You're right. Being on the shorter side really does have its advantages when it comes to travelling.

Thank you for an excellent trip report; I really enjoyed it. How does it compare with other options between Belfast and Dublin?

Having done the enterprise train before and gone by car as well, I would say that overall, this bus is the best option for solo travellers wanting to travel between Belfast and Dublin on a budget.

Great trip. Something unique on the bus is the rear door located on right side, meanwhile the front door located on left side, and yeah only front door is operated.

I don't know why Ulsterbus removed the toilets from their older coaches, and the new ones don't have them fitted. I wouldn't say it's a "gold" service.

I made the journey from Derry to Dublin airport 4 times last year and these buses aren't as comfortable as they look. My journey was 4 hours long and the bus was not of an appropriate standard for a journey of this duration. So uncomfortable.

The answer to that question should be NO. But it is advised that travellers should carry some form of ID with them, in case of a random inspection.

What are those two horns sticking out from front of bus? Is this a battery powered bus?
@Jack_Rice
@Jack_Rice Год назад
No, this is not a battery bus, and those two things sticking out from the side are actually rear views mirror. They have to be extended out like due to the length of the vehicle and help the driver get round tight spots.

I am staying in belfast and planing to visit dublin, I am an indian citizen with BRP card, whether i can travel to dublin with BRP card ?? or need Irish visa ?
@Jack_Rice
@Jack_Rice 10 месяцев назад
I'm not sure about BRP cards. The BRP card does not grant permission to travel to Ireland. I think an Irish visa may probably be required. Best to talk to a travel agent about it.

Unfortunately I could not go on those services that Translink offer as I have a kidney problems in this day and age with people with disabilities and hidden disabilities they need to put onboard toilet...... god forbid if there was an accident on the road and you would be delayed in transit you could be cut short .......the best coach to Dublin is Dublin express.......
@Jack_Rice
@Jack_Rice 9 месяцев назад
You're right there mate, In my opinion, all coaches that perform journeys that are over 90 minutes in length should have a toilet onboard.

It's a disgrace it dosent pull into dundalk or drogheda just for the sake of the fact the drivers are too lazy don't want to be stuck in traffic and just because there's buses from newry to dundalk and I've often had a half hour wait for the bus for drogheda all just because some stupid people got the wrong bus that stopped everywhere and it's the fact bus eireann and ulsterbus dosent want people shopping in saintsburys
