Guys it's not blood it's henna. I know because my family applies henna as it's a tradition here in North Sudan. Blood doesn't stay red for long, as it dries it goes black. if it was blood, it would've been black because blood dries within minutes. It's really common for it to be applied on the nails or on arms, hands, or feet.
For everyone commenting on the person’s thumbs, it’s just henna so calm down they’re okay. Ps Henna is a paste-like substance that people apply and make different patterns on their skin and stuff, so that once it’s washed out it’s like a temporary tattoo and stays for a week or so. Also it’s part of my culture and yes they usually also put it on their thumbs and nails because I’ve seen my cousins apply it like that.

As a kalimba learner having only vaguely master Leave Her Johnny Leave Her, I have the absolute most maddest respect for this. Props to you mate, maybe one day I will be on your level.
No one else seems to have commented but I just want to say this is amazing. I'm super interest in getting a kalimba and have been looking at videos. If I get one I will most definitely be learning this on it.
Well in some house holds some people use a thing called henna which people sometimes put on their hands , under their nails or their arms . Henna is SORT OF like paint but not quite and it's not in everybody's household or belief to use it .

For everyone saying this is henna its not look at the tips of the nails they are chipped. They are bruised from being bent upwards. This is what dedication looks like. Guitarist and many other types of people go through similar issues.
It's separate things the color and the way the nails look. The color comes. From henna, the broken shape from practicing a lot I guess. One doesn't eliminate the other😁
