Expression of relationships are so different. These songs express understanding, knowing someone and not merely being connected because youve become physically active with someone.
Ricky doesn't over sing - he lets the song come to him and just glides across the track. No growling or shouting - just notes that speak to your soul. Dude can blow.
+corey vire Ive never seen a truer more accurate comment on music than this one.. Now Artist have three maybe four songs they really put their heart into and just sell singles...
This shit still SLAP in 2023.. “Ooh…. Hey Hey….” I’ve listened to this song for 30 + years and it still hit the damn SAME!!!! ❤❤😂 Real talk… ❤#Timeless Classic….
@@misspoint_2501 Hey! That is very good to know, I just can’t stop myself from listening to this song anytime am alone! If I may ask which of all this songs is your favourite? Have a great day… Stay Safe
I love this song, but to me it's a sad one to listen to ,because I as well lost a nephew who use to play this song when he got ready for school, so I can relate .RIH GREG
You needed a dime to put into the pay phone to make a phone call. Have you ever heard of a expression" dropping a dime"? the pay phone is where the expression came from.

@@jayelbee1111and Timmy Gatland was from Guy. Teddy Riley and Aaron Hall. They fucked up for letting Timmy go. Timmy wrote Poison too. That man pen is dangerous.
These boys were under so much pressure to deliver when all the usual lead singers for New Edition had gone on to complete solo careers! All I say is thank God! If not the world would never know the talent of Bel Biv Devoe 😁
They blew way before Ralph did n out sold all the other members besides bobby don't be cruel but yes that first bbd album outsold johnny n Ralph solos tho .
One of the most beautiful songs I ever heard makes my soul wanna cry...these young generation will never understand the power & soul behind these songs 🎶
Ricky was always my favorite vocalist from New Edition. Very underrated.I love his voice and think it's so unique. I don't understand why people say he couldn't carry lead vocals. Pure jokes. Have those people listened even to this track? Clearly not....
Underrated yes however I can’t give him the best in the group title he didn’t shine like that until BBD Ralph was the real lead vocalist in New Edition until Jonny joined the group Bobby did his thing to Ricky really didn’t stand out until BBD after that he started getting lead roles in NE when they reunited but before that he really didn’t have a lead role
I like this songs in special this was a good singer its fantastic i listen this song from spain i hope to see onother concert. Saludos a todos los que estemos edcuchando sus canciones son MAGNIFICOS.
Tamar Ward Baby girl you're not old ( of course you know that lol) you're just wise and express a appreciation for good music. I play a lot of old school music myself and I live in an apartment so you know they can hear it and I don't care. When I crank it up I say to myself " Let me show these folk what real music sounds like. 🤣
Baby I apologize just tell me what to do to get through to you cuz the world is not the same and I know i was to blame just tell me when will I see you smile tell me.....(and I know it says.(GIRL)IT'S NOT DA SAME BUT..NOW A DAYS..ITS DA WORLD..I LUV B.B.D..UNDERRATED..BY.FAR
hold on hold on i'm takin notes!!!! what else gets you the right way ? 🗒✏️ One day i'll get on one knee for you juliagulia! ❤️️ I apologize if this is too public right now
What does underrated mean? And why do folks use the word underrated on youtube in the wrong context all the time wasn't this song a hit? Did it get radio play? Wasn't this video on tv all the time ? I ll bet if u tell him he was underrated he would be frickin insulted for all of the hard work that he's done
One of the rarest love songs ever made in the early 90s, that golden time were in a song. It takes a strong and courageous man to apologize and be vulnerable to the one he loves.
Ricky Bell is the Paul Williams of the group. Powerful voice but was always overshadowed by the lead singers. But thank God BBD came out or people wouldn't never knew his talent
Ricky was underrated, to me he has the best voice, don't get me wrong Ralph & Johnny can blow. But Ricky voice seemed more rich, smooth & versatile...more range too
Under no circumstances & regardless of how time has passed, this song & video will never get boring to listen to & watch. Thank you, BBD, for your outstanding contribution to the music industry. I hate that I did not get to see you in concert when you came to New Mexico a few years ago. 😭 💔
Something about Ricky's voice triggers emotions when you hear it. It's a rare gift that some singers seem to have: Sade and Michael Jackson (on ballads) come to mind when I think of others who elicit that response. After watching the movie, I'm sure they didn't think he had the right 'look' to sing lead as a kid and apparently he was too humble to push for a solo career when older. Amazing voice!
I would definitely say that about "Something In Your Eyes". There's something about that song that Ricky brings to it that I don't the other members could.
I remember when they performed this in concert in Chicago and Ricky was crying because his brother was overseas in the army. Such an amazing performance. 🎶❤️
The one thing like about New Edition everyone got their time to shine. Bobby , Ralph, Johnny had their solo albums. Now Ricky, Michael, Ronnie as BBD. I know I am telling my age now because I have been following these guys every since I was a teenager .
And the irony is their Poison album outsold the debut solo efforts of Ralph and Johnny combined. The two guys who were supposed to blow up and leave them behind.
I remember coming home from school, turning on BET, and seeing this vid for the first time. I screamed. You would've thought they were in my house. Haha
Thanks so much and I will have to get back to you and yours as well and enjoying your family a very merry and your family have a wonderful day for you and I will have fun with you guys but you and your mom are going well I hope you get to see if you wanted you could send the money to see you and your help with you and the rest of the morning and your family have fun at the party I was at noon on Friday so much better than I thought it would get Thanks again and I will be there around the same time you get off today I will send you an Thanks so much and I will be there at work by too
my memory of this song was I was getting a whooping and the neighbors had this blastin, and my older sister interrupted the whoopin to ask of she can order it from the Columbia house penny CD club😂😂
Am I the only one who thought Ricky was the most underrated vocalist of New Edition? Johnny undoubtably had the powerful voice; Ralph the vocal-range; and Bobby the showmanship, but BBD showcased talent by Ricky that many were unaware of.
Because he could do it all as he got older but they didn't like the idea of putting him as a lead for anything because "he wasn't appealing to women enough" I understand that reason I mean he looks more manly and NE needed a more young look
Young brothas and sistas: don't ever feel bad or get shunned for having great taste in music. It tells a lot about your character, and if anything, your detractors' insecurities.
and these three was supposed to be the least talented guy... you have to respect New Edition as a group and what they all did on their separate ways. don't know if any other group have had members go out and have number one hits such as these
Ok. I saw BBD in Dayton, Back in 1991... Mike and Ronnie left the stage while Ricky sang the shit out of this song. He did it under a smokey red spotlight. Their stage prop was a basketball yard with lockers that they actually changed while on stage in front of everyone. The place was going wild. I will die saying that this was the best concert I ever saw except for the next NE Heartbreak concert! 😉
The reason 70's 80's and 90's R&B was so good is because these guys didn't talk about "cars, jewelry, money, designer clothes and just fucking" they song about how to think about your woman to love your woman and to respect her and how a relationship really goes. There are no more real R&B singers out there everything has to have a rapper on it.
And they actually sang. That's my biggest gripe with today's so-called "RnB". These people either can't or just don't sing anymore. Rap and RnB sounds just alike nowadays.
This Era was a great time...Women were classy & not trashy...When brothers actually dress their best for their lady, instead of looking dirty with their pants sagging off their ass...We was suppose to elevate in 20yrs, But we only elevated to foolishness... SMH😡
The government,&House Nigga just beign honest that's why there is trashy songs now mumbling music....... like you use to put a record on or a CD play from being to end...no skipping,
