Bell buzzer codes are used to communicate with other members of traincrew. In normal operation the bell buzzer codes are:
1 - Stop
1 pause 2 - Close power operated doors
2 - Ready to depart, station duties complete
2 pause 2 - Do not open the doors
3 - Set back
3 pause 1 - Lock central door locking
3 pause 2 pause 1 - Door test
3 pause 3 - Driver and conductor to speak
3 pause 3 pause 1 - Release central door locking
4 - Slow down
6 - Draw forward
9 - Emergency services required
When shunting the following buzzer codes may be used
1 - Stop
2 - Draw forward/go ahead
3 - Set back
4 - Slow down
