Honestly, I very much agree with always wearing the correct petticoat to match your dress, though I don't always follow this rule myself. XD My A-line petticoat is my go to, so I've worn it with dresses that require a bell shape because when you are out and about it's just easier to have a smaller poof haha.
Funny how overstuffed is "the perfect poof" for some 😂 Thanks again for this! I'll be sure to reference your video when people ask what the difference is between the two shapes~ Also, side note but I've never heard anybody other than me say my screen name out loud, sorry to make it such a mouthful! 😅
Haha! It wasn't that bad to pronounce your screen name :) I much dread the day I'll have to pronounce a name with Diacritics (the little lines/dots above vowels :P ) Glad you enjoyed the video :D !
Not only is it "the perfect poof" for some, it's not even overstuffed for some wild dresses. I just got, uh, "Riverside Country Lolita Dress OP by Lefluor" (I was only able to find it on DI at all and that's their title lol), and I'm making a petti for it, I think it'll probably need 4 layers to fill out well. Such a big skirt on this thing!
I bought my CP a line petticoat from taobao almost exactly a year ago. I thought it would be bigger but I still like it for casual Lolita. I’m thinking of getting melikestea since they seem to be huge
They make my favorite petticoats tbh. Here is how the poof monster looks (45 cm, 3 layers, a-line) instagram.com/p/Bt_TH67A4Aj/?igshid=15jfti7asuvp And here is the Hybrid Poof Monster (45 cm, 5 layers, bell shaped) instagram.com/p/ByCAgUTnOQN/?igshid=1azqbsgy6crv
@@katelinkimmet I can't help but notice both those petticoats seem rather "unfluffy" on their own? Like not enough layers to them to do justice to that lovely skirt. Is that how the brand makes them? (I like how you put them together, btw!)
Hmm, interesting. My CP bell petticoat from around 2014/2015 has a lace edge, which this one doesn't have. Granted, mine's in white, but I'm almost certain the black had lace as well, judging from photos and reviews from the time. Also, the fabric seemed a lot sturdier/poofier, and perhaps slightly better quality? The bell petti you have could be a more recent model?
Thanks! that definitely helps narrow down which version it for reference! yeah, i suppose quality does differ between releases so if i come across one of the older ones I'll definitely do a review on the differences!
I find you can usually do it from inspection :) If the dress looks like it is more of an 'A' shape/ lamp-top sort look then it usually is aline petticoat, otherwise if it's more rounded it is bell shape petticoat :) Hope that helps!
