I decided to upgrade my road helmet. My old budget helmet was bit clunky and poorly ventilated. While it definitely saved my skull a few times, it was time for a significant upgrade. I did some research and landed on the Bell Startus with MIPS technology. MIPS stands for Multi-directional Impact Protection System. Having the extra peace of mind of this added safety feature was definitely a big deal for me. This Helmet also offers improved ventilation and a better fit than my old one and its pretty nice to look at as well. I hope you enjoy this review. Stay stoked!

I learned about the importance of helmets the hard way. Six months ago I was wearing a Bell helmet while biking but hadn't secured it properly. After I fell headfirst onto the gravel ground I became unconscious and sustained a left basal skull fracture and epidural haematoma which required emergency surgery. I have miraculously recovered with full function and plan to bike again. I'm now thinking of getting that Stratus MIPS helmet.

Great helmet, lots ventillation and light, hoping they can replace the soft TPU cover in the rear dial adjustment. That soft TPU is melting in less than a year.

I was told Bell helmets fit round heads better so I just ordered this model for 105$ +tax on sale... hopefully it fits comfortably. Thank you for the review 👍

Sad to say, after a year - the FLOAT FIT (wheel type) on the rear part (grey color) - became like soft gum. Awaiting for BELL to info I sent to their Fb, Twitter, Instagram and Customer Support e-mail.

Hi. Greetings. I used it frequently for about a year before switching to a mountain biking helmet. In that time, it gave me no issues. The last time I used it was last summer and it was solid

Looks great. Just can't decide between getting a black one or white. Tbh white looks better to me but also a little feminine. You have a beard so it works for you, not so much for me.. xD

Marius687 thanks man. I was debating on this as well. I chose white bc black knda blends in w my hair too much and you can’t really see all the detail in the helmet from a distance... also I had to shave my beard fr wrk bc of covid 😖. Stay stoked! 😎🤙

Hi mate, awesome review! I purchased the black one with orange and yellow details. I decided to take this one over the bell z20 model. The z20 model is seen as the top range model, but didn’t see much of a difference with this one. Would you know what the difference is?

Maxim S Hi, thanks man. They seem pretty similar, almost identical. But My best guess is the Z20 is probably a bit lighter and probably has better padding

Chenzo's World thanks for the advice! Received my helmet today. I normally wear medium and i feel like it runs a little small in size medium. I feel like it’s placed a bit higher on your head in comparison to my other helmet, an oakley aro 5. Maybe i just have to get used to it because I did not make a bike ride with it yet. What I was wondering also, what glasses are you wearing when you are riding your bike? These look amazing!

Maxim S you’re welcome man. Anytime. Be sure to test it out on a ride and make sure it’s right for you. I was wearing a cheap $40 helmet before I bought this one so it was a HUGE upgrade for me. The glasses are made by POC but I’m not sure which model. I’ve had them for a while and I really like them.

Chenzo's World thanks man i give it a shot tommorow, not quite sure if it’s the right size for me. I found the glasses, they are the poc aspire. They look really great but i read performance wise they are really nothing against oakley. And these poc’s cost a fortune aswell. I have some oakley sutro’s with the gold lens and they are banging so maybe if you want some new ones don’t hesitate on these ;)
