It's trial and error with cooking times depending on what you make. I use frozen fries and fill it and every so often open and toss them around to cook them all..same for chicken wings..you don't have to only just cover the bottom you can fill it half way then toss or mix whatever you are cooking to cook everything

I just got one. The smell is actually from those rubber feet on the crisping tray and was making me sick from the fumes. I’m just gonna try removing them and be extra careful when taking the tray in & out.
A light bulb just went off as soon as I read what you said about the rubber making the smell. I had not thought of that thank you for the support of our channel and happy holidays.
I have this one and the food tastes like burnt platic/metal every time I cook with it. And yes I did the burn in/pre conditioning as recommended. Total POS.
