I got my Catahula Daisy from Wakita, then moved to Louisiana , and now we're going up north to see my sister who dying of cancer. I'm glad she can meet my sister before she passes. To know the love my Lil Daisy brings into my life.
My father passed away from Parkinson’s disease in 2017. We had/currently have a catahoula. Found this song on RU-vid and it was one of the few things that made him joyful in his last days. He would sing along and be grinning ear to ear the whole time. 💕
My catahoula, Freckles died almost two years ago. Got him from a shelter. One of the best friends I've ever had. Sure do miss him. Tomorrow I'm headed East to pick up a new little girl, a silver and black Catahoula! Yeeee Ha!
I know the feeling. My Catahoula was diagnosed with cancer and we had to get him put down so that he wouldn't die a slow agonizing death. Best pupper I've helped raise
Freckles? Oh, poor ol’ freckles! My mongrel dog Gypsy, a Bitsa, (bits a this n bits a that) he had kelpie n blue healer & God knows what else, Also croaked 2 years ago. & occasionally on a full moon night I swear I can still hear him howl, & scratch his fleas, his scratching sounded like maracas.
I've lived in Idaho most of my life (born and raised here) and have had Catahoula dogs off and on for the past 35 years. Love them, Love the Bellamy Brothers, Love the song!
Kiya. She was the best friend I've ever had. She was so smart and understood everything I said. It was like talking to another person and all you had to do was show her one time what you wanted and that was it. She was so smart it was uncanny. She got old and had to be put down and I miss her every single day. I will never forget you, my friend.
I wanted to adopt a pitbull but the rescue I was working with said because I had no previous experience I could get a puppy instead. I ended up with a pitbull x catahoula from SC and that catahoula in him makes him the best best dog imaginable. so smart and independent and he has helped host many foster dogs in his time. Now I think every dog I get is going to have to be part Catahoula.
We just adopted a 6-month-old Catahoula from our local Humane Society today. I had never even heard of a Catahoula before now. We are going to call her Sadie.

Born, raised and lived in Idaho until a year ago when I moved to TX. Had several catahoulas in Idaho. People there don't know how to use them for stock dogs. But they make great family/guard dogs. Very loyal - my favorite breed!
Great song! I've got a Catahoula rescue dog. He is awesome with us and our other 2 dogs. We love him dearly. He's extremely loyal, but on the protective side. Have to be careful with him around strangers and he does not like children. But we are so happy to have him.
I helped save and raise two Catahoula pups when the mother had a huge litter and couldn't feed them all. (put all my 4-H and practical animal experience to good use Kick arse video guys :)
Best dog i ever had, Harlequine Great Dane-Catahoula Sire w/Shepherd bitch. The Houla personality -Harlequine coloring dominant. Loyal, strong personality. Very loud, intimidating watch dog. He wasnt the sharpest tack in the drawer, but everybody loved him. Whatta Texahoula. He'd been abused by his alcoholic prev "owner", and would NOT jump outta the pick-up, no matter how you called him, until you just undid one of the tailgate chains, then he'd leap almost over my shoulder onto the ground. Funny. 'Retired now, I hope to find a 'Houla half as great a friend. RIP, buddy boy.
I got a catahoula mix from a shelter too. Love her to pieces. My little girls torment her and she takes it like a champ. Sweet as pie and sharp as a tack!
I figure they are too high energy for a lot of people and chew up everything in sight...but my dog can chew up everything I own I dont care, she is wonderful.
Best dogs ever! We are on our second generation, Love them. We trained ours to be Service Dogs. One is medical assistance, and his sister is a psycological alert. They go everywhere with us. Smart as a Border Collie. Too bad most of them spend their days in a kennel.

we had a black lab, my sister got him as a puppy, and named him Catahoula. my ex called him Hootie, when he was in trouble, it was his full nsme. great dog.
Love the song but the video didn't feature the dog enough...he should've been on the boat with them, up front hanging around with them while they were playing... an intro and finale with the dog.....geez.... the band acts like they are the stars of this video 🤣
I think I just found one dumped in the desert. I pulled over and did a Uturn. As soon as I stopped again she came and got right into my suv. She went straight to the back. I gave her some bottled waters until I got her home to give her a bowl. She whines a little when we’re outside like she’s looking for her owners? She gives lots of kisses and she’s got some cuts on her. Sweet girl. Hates my little morgue so I know she’s smart cuz he’s an asshole.
