Thanks for the backstory. I am about 80% of the way through my first bottle and I liked it so much I bought a second for the "bunker". Knowing that it's going to be harder to get, I may hold onto it for a while. It was fairly easy to find up here in Maryland. The standard stuff moreso than the Reserve, but the Reserve would still come around fairly often.
Nice! Definitely one worth keeping an extra on the shelves in case it does become super difficult to find soon. Glad you enjoy it! Thanks for watching and commenting. Cheers!
Just bought this today, my local store as they had it on clearance for $42.99 manager said they weren't going to carry it anymore when I asked why it was on clearance. I had no idea it was going to be discontinued. Now I think I'm gonna go back tomorrow and grab another. Nice video man. I'm excited to watch your channel grow.
Yep. Really solid bourbon here. Kinda sits on shelves up in NKY too. People may never know what they missed out on once it’s pulled back to Tennessee only. Cheers!!
Yeah I got one once I heard it's being pulled out of the national market and it also quickly became a favorite. I've heard the new Nelson Bros stuff is different but also quite good. Thanks for watching and cheers!
Great topic! I actually hunt for the older version of this, the cask strength, I’ve only found 1 a year ago, hoping I can find more. I like topics like this, news bites, what’s going on with certain products, etc. as most youtubers dont do much of that, just every once in a long while. Some side to side comparisons would be good too.
Awesome! Glad you enjoyed the video. I'll try to keep up with more news updates since that's such a crucial part of staying up to date in the whiskey world. I am definitely planning to do more blinds and matchups in the future. Thanks for watching and I hope you find more of that older cask strength stuff...I know I'd buy some right away if I saw it. Cheers!
Latest news I have on it is what I covered here in the video. It’s being pulled from the national market and will just be a distillery only release. I’ve actually started seeing the new Nelson Bros Reserve option on shelves now in KY. Might have to try that soon
My store had a buy 2 get $10 off sale. $62 a bottle before the coupon. They only had 3 left. They had the same coupon for the regular belle meade at $39.95 grabbed two of those. Ill haveto try agin next week, the reserve is my favorite go to bourbon
I was just at Belle Meade mansion today. Bought a bottle of the reserve at the tasting room. They charged $90 for it. Didn’t even know about this bourbon until I saw this video.
It is my understanding that Bellemeade is going away. Greenbriar will be it's replacement. I've tried their juice ,and it's not completely terrible, but I don't think its as tasty as BM...stock up now folks...
Yep, Belle Meade is getting pulled from the national market. Seems like it may still be available in Tennessee for the long term but we'll see. I've also had the Nelson's Reserve and I think it's solid. I think they are still sourcing at least a portion of their product right now so who knows what the future holds? Hopefully it continues to improve. Cheers!
I'm confused, is my favorite lable gone or did they bring it back ? I haven't seen it on the shelf to buy. I've heard the new owners were bringing the label back to Tennessee. What ever that means. I mean whos the idiot that thought destroying the brand that sponsored the Kentucky Derby. Few years back was a good idea. Finished in sherry cask is their finest. Please respond for us Bella patriots out here. Thanks.
Hello! My understanding is that Belle Meade Reserve has been pulled from the national market but is still available in Tennessee (at the very least at the Nelson Greenbrier Distillery). They are now putting out whiskey with their own label (Nelson Brothers) in order to have their juice be more clearly associated with their brand. They are still sourcing some older whiskey, especially for their Nelson Bros Reserve Version. That's basically their replacement for Belle Meade, but I do find it to taste quite different. I did a review of that bottle which has a little more information on the situation. You can watch that here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-sB-4ZUBQ93s.html Hope that helps and cheers!
