Don’t worry guys I worn the steel toe version for 5 years as an aircraft mechanic. Very reliable boot and I was constantly sprinting in them and doing about 10 miles a day. I’ve went through 3 pairs.

I'm not military but use these as hiking boots. Hiked in the Himalayas with these and found them to be extremely comfortable; no issues at all.

I've worn these for years along with old school USMC jungle boots with the Panama lugged sole as well as Danner USMC RATs (both the GTX and hot weather versions). In the Marine Corps I was issued these, and as a contractor in civilian life, I purchase them myself now. I'm a USMC Veteran and still wear these boots many years after getting out as a civilian. They are that comfortable and very very durable. I also agree with Bill below me on the sizing.....not the comfort or quality complaints. If you needed a size 10, you never were a true size 11 IN BOOTS to begin with. I wear 11D in ALL boots (all brands except these 590s). I wear Red Wing USA 606, 10877, 10875, Danner USMC RATs and Quarry, Wolverine Durashocks, Ariat cowboy boots, Thorogood, CAT, Whites Smoke Jumpers, Carolina USA Kodiak Grizzly, Bates 2250 Desert Warrior and 2261 Black Tactical with side zipper.....etc...etc... My Danner RATs are 11Ds. In Nike Air sneakers and in Merrell hiking shoes I need a 11.5D....11Ds are way too short/tight. A 10.5D fits me perfectly in these Belleville 590s. In my own personal opinion the guys who say they need 1 - 1.5 sizes smaller are just trying to pump up their tires and make it look like their foot is bigger than what it really is. LOL I work with several men with little girly men size 9D feet. LOL They call me Bigfoot....the Bigfoot with the nut smashing clodhoppers to be more specific. Hahaha My point is be careful and aware of the advice you receive on the net on sizing issues with these. If you ALWAYS wear size (X) in everything else...you need -1/2 that for these to fit perfect. Excellent review, got mine this week but it's the waterproof version which has a Gore Tex lining to better suit my needs on rainy days, the craftsmanship on these boots are top notch and can definitely last for more than a year, I can't recommend them enough!

Last week I was bargain hunting at my local Goodwill and came across a pair of boots. I didn't know anything about them except that the build quality was obviously very high and they were labeled Bellville USA. The boots were over large given the stated size but they appeared to be winter boots and so I would be wearing heavy wool sock and I commonly put gel-type shoe inserts into all my shoes. Gel-type inserts can turn a hard soled boots into feet Cadillac's. As a middle-aged workman who has spend way too many hours on concrete shop floors I value solid comfortable boots. I paid $10 for them. When I got home I did the usual google research and learned they were Belleville 950 MCB. Full retail at Amazon is $240. Ebay is awash with used specimens at $40 to $50. $10? Score! Almost makes me wish for the return of winter so I'll have the opportunity to wear them.

I got the 500 and the 590. They my favorite boots and they look great with jeans. They run a size higher. I got mine on Amazon I had to return the first pair I didn't have any problems though. Soak em in water and walk a mile or 2 and they'll break in real fast.

I was verry lucky when i read the comments and watched the video! I got mine few days ago and ordered 11.5 R! Normally i wear size 12 or 12.5 depends on the shoe! But they match me like a glove 😉 it was a little bit hard for me because i am from Austria and here the shoe sizing is completly different from the US! Depends on which sizing calculator or even shoe manufacturer you look its so different and even more difficulty ... in Austria i have size 46 which is, depends on the site a 12 or 12.5 US Size... i hope this helps anyone who think about to buy such shoes!

I bought my Belleville boots in 2010 and still using them to this day. I have been using my boots daily as a mechanic. My Belleville boots have the Gore-Tex lining and work great for cold weather. Surprisingly, not hot for summer use as I use them for summer hiking trips as well. After 12 years, the soles cracked in half but that's the only defect which I plate to have fixed with new soles.

They are very comfortable. Only problem is the sole tends to crack if you bend down a lot, but you can get them resoled.

Was going to buy but now I won't because the sizing thing. Thanks I guess, time to look for another brand or try to find one that has accurate sizes at least.

wish you would have commented on how to care for these boots. I've had a pair for 3 years and they're cracking now. Someone said I should use Aussie Leather Conditioner. Can you go into care and maintenance. I love the boots and ordered a new pair. I was USMC 75-95 and they're much better than the black boots we had.

After trying on three pairs of boots sent back and forth across the country I still don't have a pair that fits. I hate the way Belleville sizes their boots.

i had a pair similar to these and they were the best boots i ever owned they were the same brand just a very light desert tan no usmc insignia after a hurricane hit here in west florida way back i went into my woods with water chest high(im 6'4 btw) and it took 2 hours for water to enter my boots i for the life of me cant find them i think i might have to get a pair of these great review!

@cacticalmain how do you wash your boots and what do you use to clean them? How did you retain your color on your boots? I use kiwi saddle soap and dawn and came out with a tan color. I got the coyote tan Belleville and the upper and back of the boot is coyote tan and where the toe is it's like a desert color. So it's like a uneven color going on the boot there.

When I was in the Marine Corps. I wore a 12 And it was the correct size. I don't know where you get your boots.

I know the video is 7 years old but I have a question. I ordered a pair of 590 in size R10.5. The 10.5 is perfect but I'm not sure if the width is right. My little toe touches the leather a bit more. I think I'm between R and W. My 590 boot has a tag on it which says Steel Toe. The 590 should have a soft toe. The biggest problem are the laces holes of the right boot. They didn't line up at all. 😒

hello love your video I have a few questions on those boots. I always wore the danner rat boots. I wanted to try something different then the rat boots I had for 5 years both in hw and temperate. I bought the temperate version of those this past winter. the first pair I got was 9.5 r a month later not very waterproof and my feet were wet only in the toe box area. belleville sent me another pair in 9.0 r. my question is how long did it take for the boot to break in. and was it hard to lace up. also did the inserts they give you correct ones mine we're cut or made wrong. also how do you prevent blisters. I wear these daily and for two months now I have a blister on top of foot and back of foot above the heel. I looking at getting a hot weather pair but want to make sure the fit is correct and there is no blemishes both temperate pairs had blemishes stitching was not spot on and the goretex liner in both pairs we're not secured around top of the boot and top of the toe box. and the vibram outsole was not cut correct and looks like they didn't inspect it before putting on the boot the sides aren't cut and smoothed right a to much out sole in certain areas any advice would be nice I hate spending an arm an leg on boots when I don't always have the money for them.

I bought these and they are too small. only 1/2 size smaller then normal. i wear corcoran size 11, i ordered 10 in belleville and they are too small. wearing them anyway, the sole isn't comfortable, arch support isn't good. Will not buy belleville again. They are cheaper boots pricewise but you pay for it. I will stick with corcoran because they have a softer and better sole.

I'm 14 and am enlisting in the Marine Corps when I get out of high school I've already started training. I'm not saying that gives me military rights or anything but would it be disrespectful for me to wear these. Especially since I live right next to Camp Lejeune

Hello, Do these fit to size or should I order a 1/2 size down?

I bought these in 550 St and your right no issues with blistered the only difference is I use taclace so my laces aren't tucked in my boots www.taclace.com I also wondered why I had to go from a size 10 to size 9.0 all my other boots I was giving are 10.5 regular or 10 regular I also did not have to pay 200 bucks for them only 50 my friend is a marsoc marine so I got a pair thru him only charged me 50 . also any recommendation on insoles am a flat foot person and Every boot I was giving didn't have insoles for flat feet was thinking of buying another set of danner fatigue fighter insoles or try the belleville custom insoles. also I noticed on other pairs of this boot they have three different soles was wondering why the didn't use the sole from the rat boots the fire and ice 360 sole. thanks for your video and advice.
