Zidane is the purest definition of a maestro in football history. Absolute pillar of my all-time dream team, his unreal talent, intelligence and technique make him the most classical and elegant footballer ever. Magician, absolute genius!
💯 agree 👍 As a Selecao fan, respect has to be given. A pleasure amid the pain ⚽ 🎨 . Falcao, Zico, Socrates...same sentence without missing a beat 🇫🇷 🇩🇿 🇧🇷 ☺
industrial football wtf. he played for the galacticos. it was prime football marketing before messi and cr7. i remember the tv spots, the huge crowds, movies like goal or bend it like beckham. zidane was part of a huge but cool marketing machine.
If I had to guess, I'd say he is more talking about how the game has progressed tactically where players are more tied to their positions and have less overall freedom for creativity thus becoming more one-dimensional players.
Every pass, every shot, every dribble, everything Zidane did had a purpose behind it. That is what makes him special. He wasn't flashy on purpose, he was just efficient.
That’s true sometimes but not all the time. Zidane loved to showboat and entertain, especially when he plays in the Bernabeu where the Madrid fans just absolutely loved him and would cheer for every single thing he does. Even in the clips in the video you can see the moments where he does the flashy moves instead of passing to a man running in better position.
Bellingham has scored in half a season half what Zidane has scored in 5 years with real madrid 16 goals during 21 appearances while your maestro Zidane has scored only 37 during 155 appearances lmao Zidane at 18 years old was playing at Cannes, I bet you have never seen a single match of that team... Bellingham at 18... Real Madrid came looking for him
@@ShadowXg0z stats means nothing . zidane didn't try to get into scoring position when his team was leading confortably for exemple . Zidane would not shoot as much as bellingham . Some players score a lot because they shoot a lot but they miss a lot of opportunity for their team by missing plenty of their shots but since they shoot a lot they will have great stats but their teams will score less. peoples really don't think very far
@@ShadowXg0z zidane had more impact offensively than bellingham. You put zidane in a team this team will score more than if you put bellingham in the same team. Zidane didn't try to shot a lot , the stats you need to watch are the goal per shots , because zidane was not aften in scoring position . Some players shot anytime they can but they miss plenty of their shots in order to score their goal so at the end their team will score less because of all the shots they miss but the player will have better stats. stats don't mean everything far from it. zidane would never shot if he knew he would not be sure to score.
@@thenavigateur8460 Oh was he ? How many goals did Ronaldinho score in World Cup or Champions League finals to decide the matches ? I’m curious son ? 🤣🤡
@@sub-zero7008 Ah I thought playing football was more than just scoring goals? Ronaldinho was a master of passing and assisting, and said himself that that was his game, and at that, he was better than Zidane, and arguably any football player ever
@@thenavigateur8460 okay well you’ve obviously not studied much Zidane then !! 🤣🤣 Go check out the re-run of the 2006 World Cup quarter final and you’ll soon see that Zidane showed the whole Brazilian team who the daddy was when he showed them all up and embarrassed them 🤣🤣 he really showed the world that day who the finest player of that generation was. Ronaldinho had a peak of two years !! His peak lasted two years !! Zidane’s peak lasted about 10 years !! 🤣🤣 Zizou pisses on him and true students of the sport know it, it’s only the fanboys that don’t haha 🤫🤣
I don’t think enough people mention how big Zidane was. A 6’1 80kg beast with the foot speed of a striker. While watching highlights of him pay attention to how physically he plays while still having the finesse to go around anyone
There is nobody in the sport that understood how to use his body as well as Zidane, I think that goes often overlooked. He had a great touch, we know. Brilliant IQ, yes. But the way he used his body truly set him a part.
Yeah these clips really show that. I thought that too. The roulette he does, are not normal roulettes. He times it perfectly so that the defender literally cannot see or get to the ball because his body is perfectly in the way at the point in time the defender would tackle him. Unlike many modern players that will do a spin for no reason for example. This is why it looks like he is able to glide past people at a jogging pace, because his timing and IQ is so good
You’re 100% right it’s so natural 1:29 is a perfect example. How he makes a portion almost limp so that the player bounces off of him instead of him tensing up and forcing a sprint
As a force, nobody can perhaps match Zidane. He was the conductor of the orchestra on so many world stages, and the whole of the French team transformed under his leadership. Unparalled elegance, stuepndous IQ, and a mystical magical ability to just carry his team, calling everything from his position, just changing history with every touch. Oh the very greatest of all time.
I dont know if there is another one who have win 10 Balon d'Or ......but for me Zidane is simply the Best i've ever see....he realy is pure Magic.... doesn't had to score a goal to make worthy to see a game with him in the field .....so sad when he stopped playing football 😢
You really dont watch much football. Yes zidane was brillant but the fact you are alive to watch messi, the guy is literally an upgraded version of zidane and hes a forward
@Febo18 what a load of absolute shite you have just spoke lol holy christ lol. you claim to watch alot of football and just said what has messi ever done that doesnt include speed lol. Christ what an contradiction on your side. Literally messi the guy with theeee MOST ASSISTS in history. Yet here zidane does a roulette so hes the best there is. The shite people chat is absurd.
Zidane plays as a man who knows has been the best for years, therefore he doesn't hold back at doing any play he comes with. Jude plays as a 20 years old that has all the tools to be one of the best of the next decade, therefore he more often than not decides to not risk the ball and play safe. But when he tries any difficult play the ellegance is there. We're talking 20 years old against 29. Lot of experience there.
Zidane is in top 5 players that have ever played football, hes style is so unique that noone can copy it , strenght, agility, decision making, enegance... When Zidane played everyone thought they can play football because it looked so easy when he did it, unreal magician with a ball, whenever he received it, there was 0 doubt in the guy, always something happened. I loved that he played for Juve and was gutted when he left, but it had to be done so the team can be upgraded. Good for him as well.
The way he just quit football only 34yrs old on the top of his prime when he could of played atleast 8 more yrs if he wanted. Like he completed the game of football. Absolute legend
Hi Magician10, I'm really glad that you continue to make videos of Zidane. Nce video, like to hear reactions of commentators and fans. And yes, Bellingham yet missed this elegance the most to be trully comparable
When you say elegance, its Zidane that comes to mind first. Then you had Roberto Baggio, Rui Costa, Andrea Pirlo. They all had this ease on the ball , remained cold blooded no matter how high the pressure was. Beautiful to witness.
ball controll and balance are unbelievable... how he can keep the ball at his feet in some situations is just crazy! ball controll balance vision accuracy technique thats Zidane for me!
I remember watching bayern real champions league wayyy back perhaps 20 years ago and it was wild how Zidane controlled the game and pinging those outside of the door 50 yard passes casually
At this point, football has evolved so much we cannot even compare the younguns to the all-time greats. They are great in their respective timelines and we are blessed to witness it.
ZZ first touch was excellent but the way he lowered is centre of gravity on 1vs1 to pass any opponents was absolutely madness, this clip shows it well.
Zidane had so much technique that he made everything look easy. The only ones I've seen do something similar were Ronaldinho and Messi. But Zidane pace was his own. He almost looked awkward moving, like being slow, but always getting there before the defender. He seemed to be almost losing the ball every time but never actually losing it. His pace I think played a major role in how hard was to defend against him. He would switch from fast pace to slow to awkward at will. But the most important part of his play was his control. He ALWAYS controlled the ball with one touch but thinking on the next move, so the ball would be in the exact place that would benefit to do what he wanted next. Amazing player, world class player just a step behind Maradona, Messi and Pelé. Top 10 HANDS DOWN.
Even tho im a barca fan and i hate how successful madrid are but im happy for players like bellingham, football needs those type of elegant players back. We don’t have as many as we used to
One of my all time favourites. Could do pretty much everything. However, Maradona is the greatest player of all time. Zidane's achievements, though great, were done from within great teams. Maradona took Argentina to a WC win they had no right to even dream about , they weren't good enough . Go back and watch his performances in every gane in '86, it's the best performance in any football tournament in history.
Tbf Bellingham is probably the closest midfielder to Zidane i've seen in terms of playing style and movement. Both big and strong with long legs. Both playing at a different pace from everyone else. Sometimes Bellingham looks like he's not taking it serious but Zizou did the same things. It looks so effortless it looks lazy sometimes.
Zidane was goat for me till december 2022. I think Messi deserves the goat title now, and Zidane is second. Bellingham has a potential to be goat in the future.
2:41 Zizou assist is extremely accurate spacewise and timewise. He first decides where to give the ball and waits for the perfect timing to do it. Pure art.
@@sub-zero7008 Yea… Bellingham isn’t the final product either… but I tell, that he’s one of the first in a long while, that reminds me these giants of the game. The average pro player to me, seems to be better and more skilled.. but the best of them, star names, seems to have thinned out. I think Bellingham reminds me of a star player, like a Zidane. But regarding being the most elegant on the pitch, Laudrup was undoubtedly number 1. I still think there’s hours upon hours of just him passing the ball. However, I think Zidane is probably the only legit contender to Laudrup. You could make up a good case as to why, he’s number 1 in that category.
Sir alex ferguson once said ,, give me ten pieces of wood and zidane and i will win you champions league “ Truly he was one of the best players to ever existed if somebody like Ferguson said such a thing
Bellingham may be on Zidanes level in 1992 when he was 20 ( same age ) He still has a long way to go needs champions leagues , world cups , ballon dors to compete . Has a long way to go but definelty has the potential if remains consistent
Zidane in 1992 was playing at Cannes, had scored only 6 goals in his career by that time, how can you compare with bellingham who has scored 16 goals as an attacking midfielder only in half a season
@@ShadowXg0z youre right and you seem to be implying Bellingham is levels above Zidane . So let’s see how his achievements compare in 10 years. Time will tell.
He didn’t necessarily have the most excellent balance or flair. But he had the talent of taking a touch at the right time to unbalance the opponent, an excellent first touch, mastered the Marseille turn & feints & always looking up for his mates. And i find him very similar to Bellingham & i think he can reach zidane's level if he stays consistent & dedicated.
I been fan of Real Madrid for 23 years now. watched Galaticos play, seen their downfall than after transition time we got Galaticos 2.0 with CR7 leading the bracket. My first football game that i watched on televison was Real Madrid vs Bayer Leverkusen in the final when Zidane scored his volley and it was love at first sight. Today watching Bellingham play brings back that Zidane flavour. Bellingham is tall and strong just as Zidane. A bit clumsy at the times. Just like Zidane. They both have amasing passing ability. Great in offense and defense. Very temperamental players with their attitude. Zidane showed us of skill and beauty, but remember Bellingham is only 20y old and his technical potential is very high. And as a cheery on top. Same club, same number. Bellingham himself said Zidane is inspiration for him. Hopefully we will see incarnation of Zidane once more on the pitch. If you think this is bullshit. Just look the way they run, dribble, carry the ball, get in tackle, act with other players, pass etc. Its so similar it brings joy. Bellingham can and hopefully will show us same maestral games Zidane showed us decades ago.
Just to be clear, Bellingham is nowhere near Zidane’s level yet. But I guess this was a clickbait title to get the younger fans to watch clips of retired players. Same reason why I never really watched clips of Best, Pele etc until I was old enough to appreciate the beauty of football skills.
El mejor partido de Zidane posiblemente fue contra Brasil, y Jude juega así o mejor cada día. Bellingham trasciende a Zidane, su figura ya es comparable con la de Di Stéfano, líder del mejor club de la historia en su mejor momento.
Only people born after the 90’s might think JuDe BeLlinGhaM is anywhere near Zidane. Good player that has had a good start but we will see if he keeps that up for 10+ years.
so you saying that prime zidane is better than 20y bellingham? no way dude!!! sky is blue, grass is green... idk if u drank but people dont have primes at 20y old most we can do is have bellingham vs zidane at 20 where bellingham is clearly better
Many compare Pele and Maradona and argue who's the goat. I think zizu could match up to both in skill technique and finesse... He's the best in my book!
I’m a huge Zidane fan but there were plenty of times he was doing his pirouettes and he had a man open in a better position than him. If I was a coach I would have been irritated he didn’t pass
What makes a player elegant? No doubt Zidane was a master of his trade, he had great dribbling and technical skills and an amazing overview of the game, but I'm not sure if elegant is a word I'd use about him. Pirlo, Ronaldinho, M. Laudrup, Figo, Bergkamp, Henry, Hagi, Baggio, Gullit, Zola, Messi - for me, they all come to mind before Zidane when thinking about elegance on the pitch.
Zidane was playing for Cannes at Bellinghams age. How the hell can you compare them both yet! Zidane hit his best form when he was around 24/25 at Bordeaux before going to Juve. Bellingham is way ahead at the same age as Zidane was
