A quick little overview of how I went about setting up my lumber yard, covering the basics for a successful settlement. Check me out on twitch: / dioxinil196
For a later game lumber camp (once you’re done with tier 2 but waiting on tier 3) I would set up the lumber yard to the west of Farnworth, there is a mix of regular trees for regular logs and Aspen trees (white bark) that give the Hardwood logs, there are a billion of them here because the trees are so close together. I did this because I wanted to preserve the hardwood trees near my base for realism, even though they can be replanted with forester as well as the regular trees
Great job on the Videos about this game! I do have one question; I've noticed that when your workers get hungry and there is no food on hand they just wander around aimlessly. How do you address this for your Remote Camps like Lumber Mills and Mining Camps?
I set up a foraging station. If I am running both Lumber and Mining, I will likely have two houses there and 3 people. 1 Lumber, 1 Miner and 1 forager for their food. I would even maybe set up a campfire for them to cook mushrooms.
Do we know where the deliveries are going to be dropped off in the main camp? I have a stockpile dedicated for just wood and logs (everything else is filtered out) at my main camp. But when the deliveries happen they go to random stockpiles that have wood and logs turn off in the filters. The dream would be for the wood and logs to be delivered to the dedicated stockpile.
RU-vid recommended this video. I'm one of those stubborn people who don't like videos like this, because it feels like others tell me how to play a game (backseat gaming?). While informative, but destroys the purpose of gaining actual game experience. Figuring things out by yourself is such a rewarding thing, it is natural that you want to share that ,,AHHA" feeling. Agree, or disagree?😅
