Lola and Chris really brought Belly and Conrad to life.

Conrad and Belly love each other unconditionally. No matter what happens they’ll always love each other. Conditional love would suck. Just loving someone by the things they do and not what they stand for. They always had eyes for each other but for whatever reasons couldn’t/wouldn’t be with each other at the time they did. You can never rush your destiny, and sometimes that destiny takes time to develop to be fulfilled. Thats what I think here. Conrad was conflicted with his feelings while dealing with his mom, he gets advice from Cleveland (in the show) about not dating someone until you’re good with yourself. He didn’t want to screw it up and lose belly for good. So he put those feelings aside. At the same time as keeping everything in about his mom dying, his dad who cheated- all of it. He pushed everybody he loved away to protect them from the truth. Connie thought it’d all be his fault. Why Susannah died, and if he didn’t take Jere, his mom would hate him. He’s a very sensitive guy, and he takes a lot of things to heart. In the books you realize more deeply why he does what he does. He truly loves Belly, and Belly on the otherhand loves him- but doesn’t think it could be real. She never felt she had a choice to choose Conrad. Years on end she put him on a pedestal, and he was so above her in her head, she didn’t believe he liked her back. It was too grandiose of an idea for her. So she latched on the thing that she thought was best. (In the book) She goes to be with Jere. Its almost a sense of obligation. While she’s still in love and pining for his brother, she dates him. Almost to try to get her feelings for Conrad to go away. But it just instead gets stronger- and for Conrad the more she pushes away, the more he realizes he can’t live without her. His heart and her heart have always and will always beat for each other. Jere cheating on Belly may have been a factor of her decision but it didn’t make it HAPPEN. All things happen for a reason in our journey of fate, and that was just one stepping stone it threw to put her where she needed to be. Aka with Conrad. Jere would’ve always been second, and even though I’m not team Jere, I still think he’s a good guy in nature. He needs someone that only has eyes for him, and loves him unconditionally. Not just loving him there for a purpose or a reason to cover up other feelings. It’s like Cam said- you should be with the person you WANT to be with. Laurel said - You’ll know when you want to be with this person no matter what- and Most importantly Susannah said, she knew she was destined for a Fisher boy. And in her head, it could’ve never been Jeremiah. He was her fun loving son. They never complimented each other, thats why she was always trying to give Conrad a push. She saw the way he looked at her- those stares and emotions were reciprocated. A mother isn’t stupid, and they can see when their child is head over heels, even when they themselves might not realize. The beautiful thing of all is that she got to see Belly in a white dress dance with Connie. She got to see their future, when she knew she wouldn’t be there for them. She wouldn’t be there to encourage Belly or to wipe the tears off Connies eyes when he sees Belly walking down the aisle. Or rationalize with the boys, and making it be top notch perfect. The deb ball was a beautiful tribute to her for her to be there with them on their day. Even if not in attendance, but in their hearts. Everybody deserves to be challenged and comfortable, to be with their match, their equal. For Belly that just happens to be Conrad.❤️♾

I don't even care if belly and conrad don't end up together.... Just knowing that THEY WILL always love each other is enough cause what they had is something one never forgets. This is the kind of love that a person would want knowing the pains that come with it and it'll still be worth it in the end

team jelly. jeremiah has always loved her, and would never make her feel the way conrad made her feel. conrad threw her feelings away, messed with her heart and her mind. jere on the other hand will do anything for his bells. yes i get conrad was dealing with the news on his own but he didn’t have to push everyone and everything away, especially his own mother.
