Award-winning journalist Charles Osgood, who anchored "CBS Sunday Morning" for 22 years and was host of the long-running radio program "The Osgood File," died Tuesday at home in New Jersey. He was 91. CBS New York's Alice Gainer reports.
I was so sad when charles kuralt left sunday morning..i thought who could follow the great storyteller...well the great charles Osgood!! When i think of sunday mornings it is his voice i hear . so calming and deep but perfect tone..thank you for all those years. I will now make time to read your books.
God bless this and all Fordham graduates. A gentleman, a musician and excellent reporter and storyteller. I'm old enough to have seen Charles I (Kuralt) and Charles II (Osgood) as hosts of the show. I wish the program would feature the arts more. May he rest in peace.
Rest in Peace, Mr. Osgood. I watched you for years. I remember you sharing about the wedding of your daughter on the show. So sweet. Thank you for this among other wonderful memories. ❤
My father had a major stroke in 1992 and went missing for 4 days. The police had to get involved. When my father was found, he had had 5 smaller strokes that had gone undetected. I moved back into the family home and became a caregiver to my elderly parents (my mother having congestive heart failure) and my grandmother for the next 17 years. One of the things I looked forward to was Sunday Morning. That program helped me get through a very difficult time. RIP Mr. Kuralt and Mr. Osgood. ❤🙏
