Former Hoover High School standout Ben Abercrombie arrived on Harvard’s campus in 2017 as a member of the football team and was excited to begin his playing career. That ended when a tackle led to a spinal cord injury that caused paralysis from the neck down.
Determined to continue his studies at Harvard, he enlisted the help of Vocational Rehabilitation Services (VRS), and the State of Alabama Independent Living (SAIL) program. The hybrid team from ADRS became part of his new game plan.
