Ben Carson addresses a comment Rupert Murdoch made about him being a "real" black president. He also talks to CNN's Wolf Blitzer about Russia, Syria, and the hospital bombing in Afghanistan.
obama is half black, and worked quite hard at dividing race. I think Murdock was implying carson is a true black man, plus has more morals, more integrity, and more intelligence than obama, who just keeps getting policy wrong over and over again. worst president in decades!!!
+AveIvy good for you.... not being offended by those who are of no consequence in your life just shows you are strong and confident. be well my friend.
Daniel Villalobos Daniel, I support Carson on most domestic issues, but not on foreign policy. His comments about how he would "get in Russia's face" are naive and dangerous. We would NEVER win a war against Russia-China-Persia....... $Trillions in borrowed money down the toilet and many thousands of our personnel killed*....... That war would make the Iraq War look like a Sunday picnic. *And our VA cannot even properly care for our thousands of wounded warriors now...... How could they care for another 200,000 US wounded, coming back from the kill zones in Ukraine, Syria, Persia, etc.?
***** Could have sworn I remember hearing that before those two ran. Oh well, I don't really care since the whole birther thing was a waste of time. Some are even trying to get Cruz out of the race because he was born in Canada.
+claudia smith why is it that since that fiasco happened under a republican administration, all republicans who voted for it are ostracized, whereas the democrats who did are given passes. Blame bush if you want for fallowing bad information but the republicans and democrats who voted for it on that. Same bad information voted for it based on what they were given.
This is just sad. This interviewer is desperately trying to create controversy and Dr. Carson, smart man he is, is not falling for it. At around 2:00, he asks him why he can't just simply say Obama is a Christian; it is quite clear that one cannot know someone else's beliefs, only what one says is his/her beliefs. Dr. Carson answers, very logically, that can he can only answer at his word. What else is there to it??? Why does this interviewer continue asking the same dumb question?
+Edward Dante As you said, he's trying to create controversy. Here you have a guy who has lived the American Dream. He grew up in poverty, and became a very successful man. He's also a black conservative which seems to scare the crap out of liberals. Carson is going through the same thing Cain did, but Carson has been much more successful in dealing with these jackals in the media.
+Edward Dante Because the GOP fabricates stories and runs with it during their campaigns to get the majority of Republican voters who believe Obama is some kind of Islamic plant trying to take down all of western civilization.
as dumb as that question is, his answer was pretty dumb too. saying he can only take him at his word is somewhat condescending and doesnt answer the question straight forward because it leaves him room to say "well i never said he was a christian" if he wants to later on. its like someone asking me if i believe dr ben carson a believes in medical practices or if i believe the 60%+ people in polls who say they are christian, and i dont just say yes, but ill take him at his word' or 'i take them at their word.' this isnt some deep philisophical debate they are having, its a dumb question thats in response to some people and some pundits believing obamas a muslim who doesnt love america. if we want to delve deep into peoples real beliefs thats a different topic but for all intents and purposes, if someone says they are a christian, they are a christian. there is no specific set of premises that encompass all of christianitys denominations and there is no one true christian standard which we base the rest off of. this goes for all religions and many other things and is referred to the no true scottsman fallacy.
+James Gray its like someone saying they are a sports fan. you generally take them at their word. yes if someone claims to be a christian but says they dont believe in god or the bible, then you can start raising concerns if they are lying but too many times ive seen people say 'oh this person isnt a real christian because they dont adhere to a rule or beliefs that person questioning adheres to. some people say the kkk aren't a christian organization because they dont do this that or another thing, but they think of themselves as chrstian, believe in jesus, god and the bible. they take scripture and use it in their own way but because they do horrible things and spew hate, some will say they arnt living by gods rules or whatever. if you think its ok for people to claim the kkk aren't real christians, then you need to be ok with the idea if people tell you that you arnt whatever religious or non religious view you claim to follow because their interpretation of that religion does not line up with yours. say you are christian but believe in divorce or eat shellfish or believe not everything in the bible is literal...you would need to be ok with people not considering you a real christian because you do those things/have those views while they dont. if i say im a sports fan, where t shirts of some sports teams and soketimes mention scores people would not question if i really am a sports fan. they wouldnt question if i go or watch all the games, know all the players and stats or always wear sports clothes. they just take me at my word. religion is personal and ambiguous in that you cant assign all attributes someone might have in following that religion to being necessary. there are only a very few basic necessary conditions in a religion,( ie believe in that god, believe in that holy book) all others are sufficient conditions. 99% of the time people who claim someone isnt a real christian or muslim or jew etc, they are not questioning others views on the sufficient conditions of said religion. there are many other things that require more sufficient conditions to be met where you cant take just the persons word for. such as people claiming to be an astronaut or pro athlete. we have defined those occupations as a nation/society where more stringent attributes must be met. major religions on the other hand have hundreds of different sects, denominations, divisions where you cannot bridge all of them together (per religion) but by a few sufficient conditions.
+Kevin Minnick I think they were college buddies or something lol. They get along. Wolf Blitzer was not being confrontational or giving "gotchya" questions like some Telemundo hack.. he was giving Ben the opportunity to address controversies and misconceptions about his campaign and positions. Notably Wolf Blitzer isn't interrupting Ben Carson and moves question to question promptly after affirmitively restating Ben Carson's answer to make sure he's not misreporting it like everyone else does calling Ben crazy or racist etc
+Smoothrich you're right he wasn't asking gotcha questions, he was asking ridiculous twisted perverted questions at the beginning at the hope Ben would say something they could make a controversy out of.
+KlllrJay......................Ben Carson will not be president and Ben dont need Wolf Blitizer for him to stumble over his on words Ben does that on his own.
+LittleMissSunshineHA Why? He has given him more issues to speak intelligently on than other interviewers have. Ben got a great many legitimate points in without interruption or misinterpretations. This was a very civilized and well conducted interview on the part of both parties. Probably the best interview of Ben Carson that I have seen thus far.
+Jayson Carmona He says that the holocaust wouldn't have happened if the jews were armed... There were over 100 jewish uprisings during the holocaust, as well as relatively loose gun laws up until '38. It also took the US 4 years to beat the Nazis, along with the worlds other great armies of the time... there is no way the jews would have been able to win against the nazis, he is ignorant to assume so.
+Jayson Carmona do you own a text book, or read my comment? They had access to guns, some even used guns in the uprising. Until 38 the Jews had access to rifles and hand guns other non machine gun weapons, it didn't work. It didn't help.
***** Is that so: Carson has, in fact, come out in support of a bill in Congress that would ban abortion at 20 weeks, and he has said that cases in which giving birth endangers the life of the mother are rare - but should be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. But Watts reiterated that the legal realm is not Carson’s focus. Read more: www.politico.com/story/2015/08/ben-carson-abortion-stance-121456#ixzz3pMhlAqRn 20 weeks is roughly 5 months. What takes 5 months to decide whether to have an abortion or not? Someone doesn't know if they were raped in a 5 month period time? Furthermore, his stance is perfectly reasonable.
+Randy Culpepper Except that white movie star actually had experience as governer of california, a state with what is now the 8th largest economy of the world... Carson has no experience.
+Randy Culpepper at least that white multi billionaire has had major decision making experience regarding large amounts of money, not in similar to the presidency. (I'm assuming you're referring to trump) a neurosurgeon and a billionaire executive are two very different skill sets.
thespian302 Now all of a sudden you have a mouthful of defense for a candidate who has no political experience. It's quite apparent that you'd just as soon vote for a one-eyed Episcopalian kangaroo, as long as it's white.
+Randy Culpepper except I voted for Obama..? The billionaire ran a company. The United States, while more complicated, resembles a large company. Not an OR. Dumbass.
What a horrible start. Bait bait bait, and Carson passed on all of it. He refused to allow his words to be twisted, and he refused to take the bait. Very nice work, but really why would all that drama crap be at the beginning of the interview?
Justin OB As far as I'm concerned he is as he voted for the current idiot in the White House, and gave money to Clinton, and other Democrats and Republicans responsible for the mess we're in.
***** Some facts you omitted... Mr. Trump says he gave money to both sides. Mr. Trump backed Republican Romney, and gave lots of money to his campaign.
LaineeTheCat Wallace "...gave money to Clinton, and other Democrats and Republicans responsible for the mess we're in." I didn't leave that part out about him giving money to both sides, lol.
Republicans can always find a herman cain, Alan king and Clarence Thomas type of black. But brother Ben is in world of his own, he needs a brain transplant. Lol
+Wamuyu Gatheru Lol, they're still trying to find the "Obama" of their party.. Sorry not going to happen, your principles do not line up with the rest on the nation.
***** How do you know if race is not a problem? Of course it can be a problem in certain situations, such as racial profiling, or analyzing statistics.
+playerjoe Get real People are racist . Do you have a Brain ? If you do you can find a way out of worrying about all this racism . Remember this Country is not even 300 years old and the USA is freedom to the world . Who stopped slavery ? USA did . Who stopped Tyrants in Europe ? USA did . Who stopped Islamic Fascists ? USA did. Now after all that Obama reneged on the deal that WE as USA would protect them and We have tucked our tails and retreated . Bush W was right after 9 -11 We need to let the whole damn world know what freedom is and if you are not with us you are Fascist Commies Socialists and the Like . The New America is about to take a stand for the Constitution that is so eloquent you would not even know how to deal with it if you are a Democrat , get ready for some Senate, Congress and Executive Branches to erase everything Obama did !
+playerjoe I think Dr. Carson sees a more socioeconomic dilemma here, and minorities just happen to be the ones that are poor. Following in the MLK tradition of post civil rights, he wants to adress the socioeconomic factors and not systemic racism. Systemic racism is a symptom, socioeconomic faults are the root of the problem. The difference between MLK and Carson is that MLK was a Christian Socialist and Carson is more of a Liberterian/more so capitilist.
Jasper he has neither of the two lmao. Is he a good doctor yes but he also is a idiot when it comes to politics. The man use tax money just for his personal gains and his response on homosexuality is just absurd.
This man has true integrity, common sense and logic skills. If more of us fathers would lead our families the way he does, our country could become great again naturally. What a great role model and inspiration! Great candidate! Stand with him. :)
This was actually one of the best interviews I've seen lately of a Presidential candidate. Loads of questions and answers, addressing bias instead of reporting with it. Good job Wolf & Ben
"Why cant you call him a christian? Why can't you say he's a real black president?" Maybe so CNN can't quote Ben Carson saying that and using it to their advantage.
"why can't you just say he's a christian?" why is this guy trying to incite some kind of personal thing against Carson? terribly unprofessional interview in general.
I dont get the whole black thing... CNN always wants to make this about race, why? Because thats all they have to talk about when it comes to blacks...
+Lamont J Lamont, did you know that all human DNA is pretty much the same? We all have the same DNA, we just have different pigmentation. In fact DNA is so close in all humans there is only a .5 percent difference.
Regardless of your current political standings, you really owe it to yourself to listen to this very smart doctor on how he'd bring America back to her former glory.
Wolfe Blitzkrieg took a flying face plant! LOL DR. CARSON is miles above the feeble CNN attempts to bait him into a corner. Go BEN CARSON!!! Would love to see Carson and Trump on the same ticket....either way. Trump/Carson or Carson/Trump. We cant lose.
Carson for President! I'm a registered Dem but I really like this guy and feel he's the most trustworthy candidate. So full of common sense and always know how to outwit these liberal journalists and their BS.
***** I agree that we're involving ourselves in something we shouldn't but I would hope that someone who thinks he should get the launch codes should know the difference between Kurds and Quds.
***** The point is, he doesn't know foreign policy and he's too arrogant to learn new information. I would give him credit for being good at what he does but he HAS for filed bankruptcy protection over a dozen times. That either says that he's not as good as he says he is or that he would game the system. Neither scenario says leadership to me.
CNN your video's title, are you a chubby stained t-shirt 5th grade bully...grow up. This man is one of the greatest minds of our time, with all the points covered in this interview that's your title...FIRED...
Carson for President!! I LOVE how he kept his cool, he was respectful, way to go!!! I was impressed with how he was able to answer those questions at the beginning straightforward and honestly but without getting bogged down in those questions. Go Carson!!!
most Christians in america, never actually read the bible, or paid any attention to what it says: " Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. 3 For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and you will be commended. 4 For the one in authority is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for rulers do not bear the sword for no reason. They are God’s servants, agents of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. 5 Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also as a matter of conscience.6 This is also why you pay taxes, for the authorities are God’s servants, who give their full time to governing" (ROMANS 13:2-6)
+Fixing Democracy Can't Wait - Get Lessig in the Debates wake up people, Christianity was a roman political propaganda: " To all in Rome who are loved by God and called to be his holy people:Grace and peace to you from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ." (Romans 1: 7)
+haney lee christianity is a political roman propaganda invented by the romans dejudaize judea, and other areas of the middle east, in which judaism was the predominant religion. it was built on 2 fundamental principles. 1. Obey the authority (ROMANS 13:1) , and pledge allegiance to the emperor. 2. your messiah has come, and he exempted you from observing the torah. (hebrews 8:13), and there's no new rules to follow (ROMANS 13:9) except the authority , bc the leader is chosen by god. (ROMANS 13:1) the man who wrote these books, and half of the new testament is a roman citizen from modern day turkey. the 4 other guys who wrote jesus biography, did so between 40 and 90 yrs after jesus, and they don't agree on his genealogy. they also missed up the lineage of hebrew kings.
+Fixing Democracy Can't Wait - Get Lessig in the Debates "They have been informed that you teach all the Jews who live among the Gentiles to turn away from Moses" - james addressing paul in (acts 21:21) paul is the roman guy who wrote almost half of the new testament.
+Fixing Democracy Can't Wait - Get Lessig in the Debates Here's the problem with the books you are siting. They were written by Paul. Paul has misled many away from God just like Muhammed has led many to Satan himself. God abhors religion, he has told us so in the Torah.
This reporter is pissing me off! Why is he badgering Ben Carson with stupid questions like "is Obama a real black president?". What difference does it make at this point? Look at all the damage Obama's done to our country!
He's the President and he's black. In other words stop asking dumb questions LOL. I love Ben Carson don't get into the childish games the media plays. Keep it real.
Just watching Ben respond to Wolf's "gotcha" style questions calms me. Ben is such a solid man. A true American who should be our leader. The minority of Americans (these politico idiots such as Wolf) need to be led by an insightful and clear figure such as Ben. Ben will bring responsibility back to political leadership if he's elected.
Blitzer goes after Carson like a prosecuting attorney and then tries to twist what he said. Good for Carson, he sticks with his beliefs and isn't fooled.
HA! He tried to box in Ben Carson and get him to say something somewhat controversial so they could take it out of context and blow it out of proportion to make him look bad, but he handles these sneaky interviewers so very well. Well done, Ben. You have my vote.
Sir, Ben Carsson God bless you. You are brave telling the truth. Many of us here in finland are praying for you. It is so rare now a days who speak like you. You put God on top!,
