This is theatrical perfection! It takes the Brits to do such a good job with an American show. Strong leads, lively choreography, John Wilson's orchestra playing the original orchestrations, the elegant Royal Albert Hall as a backdrop, and Ben Davis's glorious final note. I never get tired of watching this, and am so grateful it has been preserved.
@@luciano161157 It's a show-within-a-show: a musical adaptation of The Taming of the Shrew set inside a late 1940s backstage musical. This is Petruchio's solo in the "Shrew" show.
I’d also recommend listening to clips of the 1967 television productions starring Robert Goulet who I think was one of the great musical theater baritones. This fellow does a excellent job but unlike those predecessors, he has a fine voice, not a great one.
