When Austin does videos like this, just him listening and talking about music, I feel like he shines the brightest. He speaks softly, he’s clear and articulate, and his knowledge of metal music lends to this format so well.
Chris Wiseman is a fuckin' songwriting beast. Like youj said, the fact he can differentiate so well between the 2 bands and keep very different yet distinct sounds for SOI and Currents is amazing
Hey ducky! It would be a dream come true to see you collab with Ben. I'm imagining a section if you guys going back and forth doing evil witchy vocals in each others faces.
GOOD SONG.....VERY CRADLE OF FILTH....BUT I STILL THINK MELANCHOLY IS HANDS DOWN THE BEST CD EVER WRITTEN...AND WILL NEVER BE TOPPED IN OUR LIFETIME....EVER
It's always so "weird" for a lack of a better term to see you do these reactions. Your talking voice is just so innocent and I couldn't imagine you doing the sounds you do while doing vocals lmao Love these reactions tho!
Such an amazing album again👌 I was going to see them live for the first time over here in Belgium at the beginning of this month. Sadly because of COVID it was postponed. To say I'm looking forward to it, is an understatement 😏
Not gonna lie I kinda was swept away from this band for some reason but the revisit to their newer stuff was very pleasing! Nice stuff Dickey ! You always have a great two cents on the song afterwards 🤘
Ben is SUCH A FXCKING MONSTROUS VOCALIST!!! Also, when are we gonna see you and jared do another best breakdown video together? You and jared are how i found out about shadow of intent in the breakdown video of the heretic prevails by SOI.
Dude this year has been amazing for deathcore. New Darko, FFAA's album, Enterprise Earth's best album by a long shot, Shadow of Intent continuing to prove why they're the kings of the genre, new Whitechapel, new Worm Shepherd, new Kublai Khan, it's just been banger after banger.
FIrst thing that comes to mind is Osiah-The March when you brought up using a high on the drop. First time I heard this song i about shit when the buildup kept getting lower until the drop and he's like EEYAAAAAAA.
I totally agree with what you said about deathcore. I was so bored with it a few years ago and it all felt so predictable. But I really feel like shadow of intent is taking the top spot for the genre
For me, Shadow never fit into a true "deathcore" mold. They've always been The Black Dahlia Murder of the deathcore world. TBDM never truly fit into one specific sub-genre of metal, and SOI is following that same suit. Even since Primordial, they've had this symphonic blackened death-"core" sound that was very uncommon in the states. They had elements of bands like TBDM, Aborted, SepticFlesh, Dimmu Borgir, and Whitechapel in all their releases. Reclaimer was their closest to outright deathcore, but was still not truly fitting into that mold as Chris has been way to melodic with his writing and never does the traditional deathcore tropes. Also, they hate being referred to as deathcore.. lol.. Overall, they are my favorite modern metal band out there and I love the direction they are going.
Is there any news on when you’re supposed to be putting out new stuff, Austin? I thought you mentioned at one point that you had a release planned for January.
Music video for the new single “Amaterasu: Iris Infernus” from my new project “Dark Watch” drops February 3rd with a new single dropping once a week until the Full EP “Cosmo-Deus” releases on March 3rd!
(Already wrote this once but RU-vid must of deleted it) Mostly just breakdown bands Knocked loose End Varials Jesus piece Year of the knife Vein Old school code orange Is mostly the kinda metal I listen too, I never really got into bands that try to be "artsy" I'd much rather listen to rap or pop if I wanna understand a song on a deeper level by its lyrics, melodies or message but I can 100% see why these guys are popular tho and if you're into this band by all means bro play this til the cows come home❤️
@@Belknap307 my favourite bangers ATM mostly ain't even metal but here's a few Golden - Harry Styles Heroin rap - huskii 5:3666 - MGK Company - Justin Bieber Monster - Shawn Mendes Don't hate me - bad flower Ain't it different - headie one Leave a Light on - Tom Walker Bye - Jaden And anything by the neighbourhood, Billie Eilish or joji's older stuff.
If this was how shadow started, i would have never listened to them again. Do u people ever criticize your own? God this was crap. First 2 albums were great but they took 4 steps back. Lorna has changed in a similar way but still sound amazing. Shadow sounds like they went pop. Its so disappointing. I try to give them a shot over and over and i can't. Ben is a monster vocalist and he does not showcase it at all like he did before. Why? Seriously go listen to prelude and then listen to this.
