Your reaction after the Song ended was exactly me after hearing the whole album for the first time. SoI matured so much with their sound. Truly incredible. All of the band members. Maaaaan.
Once you hear the rest of the album, you'll realize they were actually holding back on the singles. The album is off the wall, and boy is it fun to listen to. It's amazing.
Hell yeah man, I felt the same after first full spin this morning! So glad it's finally here! I see you rollin through every SoI reaction out there; same here!
Yeah they did, whole album is amazing from what i've heard so far. First time seeing the video to Of Fury for me though. Always amazing to watch GalacticCriminal react to things.
Oh buddy. If you want more symphonic/orchestral stuff, you're in luck with this album. Chris said they're probably going to release an all-orchestral version because the arrangements can stand up on their own.
@@kingdclxvi8488 bro, you are so lucky. I live in the Netherlands and we can't have live concerts for a while. I want to see FFAA live so bad and SOI too. I have not seen them live yet sadly.
I had my SOI sweater on today, it's funny you are wearing Orbit Culture sweater and Shadow of Intent hat my 2 fav bands right now (Lorna Shore 3rd from that EP alone). Great reaction as always, the new SOI has such an amazing progressive sound for them to get more into the death metal side.
Spun the album 4 times so far today, and I'm goin back in for another! Shadow of Intent have taken my 'Favorite Band' title over the last year or so. Just bought tickets earlier this week to see them next month in Brooklyn! (second time seeing them in 3 months time!!! lucky me!)
😳🤯 Yoo!! This shit SLAPS! I loved the entire thing. That groove was tasty lol. I noticed that he did a little vocal distortion trick in the beginning that Dimmu Borgir also used.
I always appreciate it when I encounter someone who can appreciate a band doing many different things. Some people get hooked on just a few styles and tend to reject or look unfavorably on stuff outside of that box, and Shadow of Intent went very outside the box on Elegy. Absolutely loved it.
@@evanblake5252 it's definitely something new and at the end of the day there is nothing you can do about them changing their style. I knew from the beginning that it would be different so I went into it with an open mind. It sure as hell also helped that I've been loving this kind of heavy, symphonic and epic style of metal anyway
I already knew to expect symphonic elements but the choral background towards the end was epic. Combined with his goblin-esque vocals at one point really gave me Dimmu Borgir vibes and I am absolutely OK with this
You will have a bunch of reactions to do the next few weeks! So many great bands released even greater albums today! 🔥 Glad you already found the time to react to Shadow of Intent! Definetly my favourite album of today.. closely followed by Worm Shepherd! Cheers!
Epic video man, heard this song a while ago now. Didn't know they were going to release a video for it. Such a different blend for Soi, but whole album is going to be mind blowing for you.
I LOVE this song so much. That main melody/riff almost reminds me of Dissection, but less dark and more catchy. Melancholy kind of sat in a grey-area between deathcore and symphonic death metal, and though it's amazing, I tend to go to the particular genres instead of the blend. I'm all for where they're going with this melodic/smyphonic death metal direction, they're songwriting is so fantastic.
This album is just incredible. With the exception of From Ruin...We Rise, the singles they've released are probably the weakest songs on this album, and that says a lot. I can't decide if this tops Melancholy or not, but it's as close to perfection as you're going to get.
I'm 3 listens down the entire album and man I've barely scratched the surface. There's so much to chew on. These guys have really matured. Some people don't seem to like their new work and have called it copy paste (blasphemy) but in my eyes these guys have truly melded styles so fucking well. SOI are on their way to the top if they're not already there. PS - That closing riffs and black metal screams. Madness.
Shadow of intent, Fit for an Autopsy, Enterprise Earth and Worm Shepherd all just dropped albums, personally after a first listen to each, Worm Shepherd is the front funner, this is just a first impression, but holly shit they are ALL bangers. What a time to be alive in the metal world..
Always when a new album drops i am extra positive and hyped. but this is not even the hype that is speaking : "Shadow of Intent - Elegy" is without a doubt the best ever album created IMO!
Shadow of Intent Sounds like Progressive melodeath, progressive death, Death at the same time.......Can anyone pinpoint the actual style of their music?
love this song, music video and your reaction made it even better keep up the awesome work. i am excited to listen to the rest of the album and you should check out frctrd burden pt2 featuring ben i think you will really like it
Woohhh , i don't see you so emotional after a Song 😳. This Band is very Special . I Upload the Album this Moment on Deezer . And i will be hear it when i Paint my new Art work . I hope it inspirier me . Kisses from Germany
Great song, just wish the music video didn’t cut to a new angle/scene every 2 seconds. Gotta let it breath man.. especially for that solo. Show us the damn solo!
It's actually funny how their stuff is starting to sound more like Fleshgod Apocalypse but with more of that deathcore and Meshuggah-esque twist the more they collaborate with their keyboardist. And yeah, that guitar lead sounds very much like something Sabaton would do. That being said, are you gonna check out the Worm Shepherd song featuring Scott Ian Lewis of Carnifex?
@@galacticriminalx bruh i already am miserable xD And i hear what ya mean, i dont try to sound like other vocalists.. its just some of the songs i do sound like shit when my voice is in there.. Anyway, thanks man.. btw not sure if you heard about the band HATE but you should check them out, they released the album few months ago.. They are polish blackened death metal but not like Behemoth. Listen to the song Rugia.
i am happy that they´re ready to ditch the blandness that is *core, but while trying that shit out - Elegy did not come without flaws. i dont like this one as a single cut. it does .. lets see, nothing? its not bad per se, showcases a level of maturity they´ve not necessarily had before. its unfortunately also forgettable as heeeelll
Am I the only one who felt almost let down by the new album? Like don't get me wrong, it's still very good, but in my personal opinion I feel like it wasn't on pat with the last two albums. Maybe it's just cause I'm more of a deathcore kinda guy than death metal, but idk. Again, it's not bad by any means, it's still very good and their talent is very much evident. I just feel like the older stuff was just more my style. Am I the only one who thinks this?
So far I’ve made it through ent earth. This album man’s the darko single today. Man. Such a good day. And yea. This song fucks hard Just go grab four talleys and post up doing reactions all friggin day. Fuck it. Lmao
I like this track. But it’s definitely not the best one on the album IMO. Good content as alway mate.. Check out Enterprise Earths new album. A lot of awesome tracks from them on the Chosen
I wish i would have gone in blind to this album like i did with Melancholy. Not listening to any songs before the release. The album is great. The songs that were released before this album feels like the weakest songs on the album. The album is truly great but it is not a Picasso like Melancholy
