A real nice man and a bass legend. The dude behind the bass I've listened to the most in my life. I literaly cried watching and listening to this, as I told myself Juan Nelson's solos are among the greatest things I've ever experienced at a concert and ... yeah. So much heart, generosity and talent! RIP, Mister Nelson. 🙏
Bass player confession time...I stole so much from Mr Nelson. He made me buy my second octave pedal. I sold my first one because I didn't get it, then I heard Mr Nelson use one and I was like, oh, you do it like that, huh? Stole a lot more, but that's a "for instance". RIP Mr Nelson
tooo bad RU-vid has to turn down the band width on all the good music. cant enjoy any music now you cant self buffer it all stalls out.. I guess the peasants are not allowed to enjoy music anymore..
+James Gtr MTD Basses is what he used in this video, it's a custom bass made my Micheal Tobias. I used to have one, an amazing bass but not nearly as amazing as the man playing them, the "mighty" Juan Nelson.
Yes! i totally agree! it's the man, not the bass! but one of my best friends is going to make a custom bass for me, and i especially love the design of this one ;) Thank you so much for your help! :)
Absolutely James! I sought for years the very same bass guitar, rig and strings ect...when I first heard Juan Nelson. I couldn't believe how he made his bass almost talk. I literally sold a car, some very expensive vintage gear, to buy the "exact" setup Juan was using. Although it was amazing, I soon found I needed a lot more work to get even close to his level with my bad-ass Juan Nelson setup! Ten years later Im totally fine with my Svt-classic and 5-string jazz american. People comment all the time on "how do I get that same tone?" I can get by with a simple Gk and a15 and move mountains today! Keep up the good work and I hope you enjoy your custom! Sometimes those are the best, because it's "your vibe!"
they still had it then. I don't know what happened later, from one year to the next he kind of lost it, and the band with him, around the time he added the two white dudes. I mean he still was good, but that's the problem, before his shows were like a whole extrasensory experience. maybe it was just that so much massive touring took a toll, idk
